How the Noblesville 2010 Concert Should Have Started

As I sit here listening to PJ radio and hearing Love Reign O'er Me it made me think about how this concert was almost cancelled due to the weather. We sat in the parking lot for what seemed to be forever to hear if they were going to let us in or not. How freakin' awesome would it have been for PJ to hit the stage and Boom to nail those first few notes of the song to start it off? Not that the show wasn't awesome enough, but man that could have just taken it over the top.

Love Reign over Me would be a killer opening track.
I still prefer Long Road or Of The Girl.
But honestly, I really don't care as long as I am there seeing Pearl Jam Live.

  • That would have been cool. My girlfriend and I had taken a cab to the venue and had to find shelter as best we could. It was such an awesome show and a very memorable night. We went both nights for DMB at the same venue and the rain was even worse on the first night of that and when they came out they started the show with JTR and the crowd went wild.
...to live in the present tense...
  • That show had such an awesome feel to it! I was in the seated area so didnt have to leave the venue luckily.

Release, to me, was the perfect opener. Kind of a rainy day song for me anyways!!!!!!

I actually loved Release as the opener......with the wind swirling on a cool May night.........it was a perfect moment for me
  • I didn't even think I was going to get into the parking lot for that show due to traffic/delay. Regardless great show.
  • We drove 6 hours from Columbus, and when we were in the arena I just thought it was windy. I had no idea of a possible Tornado.
I got some if you need it.

That was one of the craziest preludes to a concert...my friends and I were standing in the parking lot, it was sunny and humid, and then in a span of like 10 minutes black clouds started rolling in and it was pouring. Crazy stuff!

they should have opened with DROWNED off the same album :D
  • Thank goodness for some folks who were kind enough to allow my friend and I to sit in there back seat when the storm rolled through. We were staying at the nearby hotel and walked over the the venue only to hear that we could not get in and shit was about to hit the fan. We decided to head to the lot and look for someone to hang with in hopes of getting some shelter. Awesome beginning to a fantastic show.

release was great i drove from columbus the night b4 only having 70$ cash on me that was it and I still had to get back to TX. Bought a scalper ticket for 50 bucks and enjoyed what was a frigid but great show! I didn't know how far it was to the venue no idea rain was coming. I got stuck with my rental car it was either get a room and fly out that next morning. or take my chances on a 2 and half hour drive to indy. Went some backroads thru the little towns just to feel the air in that part of the U S. It was like a picture taken out of a book in some places rolling hills , lots of old houses all by myself. It was great, so as much as i hate the scalpers this ol man sold me his last one. Good Times Indeed! maybe next time I can find someone to go with. people think im nutz cause of what i did were im from. wouldnt have changed a thing. but i really did want to here love reign ovr me never heard it live b4. garden was great and when he was talking about john cougar camps son b4 force of nature priceless!!! :)
    until next time......

    I thought Release was perfect.
The only people we should try to get even with...

  • Release was amazing, no doubt. Really no complaints at all, just was thinking out loud on this one haha.

My wife and I drove from Columbus as well for this one. Pulled into the parking lot and made our way up to the gates and realized nobody had been let in yet even though it was past the time when they should have been opened. We got to talking to some people are figured out what was going on, we headed back to the car and turned to some radio station like the employees of the place told us to do because they would keep us informed on there, which they never said a single damn word about PJ at all. Finally after sitting for long enough I said let's head back up to the gates to see what's going on and right then they started to let people in.

Likewise, drove into Noblesville from Columbus after the previous night's show and was fortunate enough to have gotten into the venue early before the gates were closed. I recall hearing the words "tornado warning" and thought to myself "could the concert actually be called off?"

    Glad it wasn't. Great show.

Weirdest PJ show I've ever been too. Went with a fellow 10c member. We were seperated going in.
She went to get in line for the porta potty, and got knocked down by some rowdy drunk guys.
I saw a few fights in the beer line. Was thinking the whole vibe was wrong.
Later I went to the restroom and to get some beers and I myself got into an altercation. I was in the process of being escorted out when a bunch a people ran up to tell security that it was bullshit because they saw the whole thing go down and the guy swung on me twice before I hit him.
Surprisingly, they let me stay! Strange vibe all around. Too much time to tailgate with the storm I think.

To be honest, I haven't even listened to the boot, because the whole night was just off for me.
    Peace, Love.

For sure. Perfect start to what turned out to be a really good show. Can't believe that was over 3 years ago now.
  • I drove from NW Indiana and ended up driving through that storm. Anyone who has owned a Cic knows the wiper’s max speed is not enough for such storms. I could not see at times but I was determined to not miss my first PJ show. When we arrived, we watched as a tour bus (it was still pouring so I could not see whose it was) went off into the drainage dip on the side of the road. I had VIP parking. They literally parked us right up by the front in the grass. I asked if the show was still a go and they said yes. We had pavilion seats and I was thankful for that as the rain was still pouring down. It ended up being a great show!
