Sheperds Bush was awesome - end quote (why won't it let us choose more than 3?)
Shepherds Bush was an amazing night, fantastic to see the band from so close (2-3 row for much of the night) but Wuhlheide, the whole experience was just perfect, nice place to hang out, eat, drink and relax while waiting in line, a really relaxed vibe and the perfect setting. Much better than waiting around in a line outside a theatre/arena!
The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits
This really has multiple answers based on the nature of the PJ experience:
A small venue evokes the old-school PJ days when they were just starting out, but it also provides a perfect intimacy with the band for those occassionaly quiet acoustic sets. A large venue lends itself best to the anthemic vibe that emanates from so much of their music. This is particularly evident in the sing-alongs, when a crowd of 20,000 is rocking right along with the band.
That said, my New York-centric answer:
Small-The Beacon (a real special place to see any show, it was an absolute privilege to catch PJ there-7/1/08)
Large-The Garden of NY (Every show matches my idea of PJ BIG. In fact, I think the boys keep raising the stakes everytime they play MSG. It seems they are deliberately challenging themselves to outdo their last stint with each succesive one)
2 Nights in a row at MEMORIAL STADIUM at the SEATTLE CENTER!!!!
Outdoor show / Smaller Venue / EXCELLENT SETLISTS!!!
I was in Hong Kong that October & missed their show at "The Croc"
This maybe the SMALLEST Venue (next to The Off Ramp) PJ ever played!!! :ugeek:

YES! i was just thinking about the beacon. having missed the shows at the gorge and red rocks id love to see a show there
dimi that is just straight up redic ... 10c needs to let the band see that one! id be there in a heartbeat.
id love to see them do a set at the house of blues again or even kingston mines in chicago
I'm thinking Gorge or Santa Barbara Bowl! The Bowl holds about 3000 and you can see the Pacific Ocean from the top of it! It's a great setting for any show but I may want to see them in a larger venue so the larger crowd can get into it.
The Borgata is the BEST venue around the Philly/South Jersey area, to see a concert. I was LUCKY to have seen Pearl Jam at the Borgata in 2005. Holds no more then 3,000 and the acoustics are excelent.
I would lve to see them play at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, Pa.
Hell, any small venue with great acoustics would be fine with me>
1) The gorge - its awesome, best venue i've ever been to for concerts.
2) The Commodore in Vancouver - A cool little venue, holds about 1000 people. PJ played there in 1000. Not the greatest PJ show in history, but a pretty cool venue
3) Grizzly Stadium - Missoula - It's just a football stadium, but its got this cool hill behind it where people who couldn't get tickets could also watch
#1 on my list I wish I could seem them play at:
1) Red Rocks - From what I understand, its right up there with the gorge as the best venue in the US.
I guess I like outdoor shows. Not so big on the arenas. Some arenas have better sound, some don't, but I find more character with some of the outdoor venues. Even memorial stadium in seattle made for a cool outdoor venue
I would have to say MSG. That place brings out the best in a band and the crowd is always so into the experience. When I'm walking into a PJ show at the garden i feel the same way as i would going to a Knicks playoff game or the Rangers Stanley Cup Finals. Such a good atmosphere.
Wuhlheide is hard to argue against and certainly the best venue I personally have ever seen them at. What I'm dreaming of, though, is either The Gorge or Red Rocks.

I vote for Pistoia, Italy. Super place. Big enough for energy, small enough to be intimate.
