Some minor tips for tix :-)

Ive never missed a show because I was too slow on the computer (VIC, posters, MSG, Ed solo NYC's). Maybe Ive just been lucky, but I can tell you what I do every time.

1. Make sure your cookies are cleared.

2. Dont hit refresh, just keep hitting the TICKET button once every second until the specific show ticket icon pops up. (if your browser doesnt reload the "ticket" page 1-1.5 seconds after clicking it, its your slow internet connection, and youll never get in in time to get tix like these). Goto a hotel or something and use their wireless if you have a slow connection.
EDIT: This step only applies to seconds before the show even goes on sale. Start clicking the "ticket" button on the left about 1 minute before the show even goes on sale. Eventually the specific show icon on the right will show up. Just dont "over-refresh". After the show icon comes up, just click on it once, then BUY! yay!

3. PRACTICE on other shows (yah, it may take away from the supply for a few seconds, but itll come right back when you empty your cart).
And Practice your mouse moves from the "ticket button" to the "ticket icon" when it shows up, to the "buy" button..sounds corny, but it works. Like practicing on the piano :-)

PS: I use IE, not firefox.

Please feel free too add to this..or edit if you think im wrong!

Also have the three digit code from the back of your CC...I lost out on NYC 2 because I hadn't given it to the person who was ordering my tickets (while I was having dental work done!).

I agree 100%. This is a competition. You don't want to screw over your fellow 10C member, but you still need to do the things to make sure that you get in the building for the shows that you want. Nice advice!

Thank you BMore! I deleted all temp internet files, cookies, and history at 5:58EST and picked up the Newark pair right away using Safari. Good tips.

I'm no expert by any means, but I think the key also is to have your eyes focused on the right side of the page and don't panic when an additional icon pops up. That way you can click on the correct one in one swift motion as opposed to the shaky mess (like me). Hope Newark worked out for everyone who didn't get NY tix!!
  • Its all the other way around..... we're upside down. Who the hell knows. I got my EV2 tix in 10 sconds, I got my MSG2 tix after 40 minutes of refreshing. LOT & LOTS of luck too bad had to get these tix. See you guys there.

yah, there's a good bit of luck involved IF you dont get in right away. Ive never not got in right when they went on sale. And if youre lucky enough to get in right away you need to be prepared! You can have all the good luck in the world, but if your browser logs you out because of cookies, youre not getting in.
Im not saying Im an expert or anything...but these steps have always worked for me and Ive never been shut out.

I don't think you are wrong, but another option if you don't want to move your mouse all over the place (and when you have seconds to spare for such a hot ticket as this, you don't want to waste precious time), is simply to re-click on the show icon on the RIGHT side of the screen. Don't bother mousing back over to the TICKETS button on the left side. It will shave valuable seconds from your refresh efforts.

Trust me. I counted how many times in one minute I was able to refresh using that method, and it was 37. That's a lot!

Sorry, let me clarify...that step was UP TO the point the icon even appears on the right. I click the ticket button on the left over and over starting at 1 minute before the show goes on sale. After 60 clicks or so the show pops up, then i click on the show icon, then buy. Ive never had to click on the specific show icon more than once.

    Easy as 1, 2 3!

i posted this earlier today and many people have found it to be successful.....

    use firefox

pearl jams site is set up in frames so

in firefox, right click in the center frame (black area), go to 'this frame'>'show only this frame'

instead of clicking refresh, keep clicking on the show ticket icon

remember 'temp out of stock' doesn't mean sold out.....keep clicking until it say 'out of stock'

oh and a fast internet connection helps too

    good luck! :)

If you get the buy button:

type out your credit card on a word program and copy it

then just paste into the checkout screen

    saves time at checkout

but the key is getting the goods in your cart

Thanks to your tips, I got 10c tix for the first time today. So, thanks so much! I did exactly what you wrote and it worked for Night 1, I got "buy" and to my cart for Night 2 before getting booted when I hit "check out", but at least I'm there for Night 1 :D

I think practicing when you aren't going to a show isn't a good thing

    SHOW COUNT: (164) 1990's=3, 2000's=53, 2010/20's=108, US=118, CAN=15, Europe=20 ,New Zealand=4, Australia=5
    Mexico=1, Colombia=1

Where does the new ticket icon pop up? Right now there are 5 icons, which means that I won't be able to see the ticket if it pops up at the bottom of the rest, because I can only see 3 tickets at a time on my screen. So, do the newer tix always pop up at the top? I hope so.

EDIT: based on the order they're in now, the newer tix pop up at the bottom of the list which means I won't be able to click the ticket button and still see the ticket when it pops up, so I guess I'll have to resort to refreshing the page. Am I wrong?

Crap, that doesn't work either - when I hit refresh, not only does it take me to the top of the page, but it also takes me out of tickets and back to the featured item. I guess I'll have to hit "tickets" and then scroll down each time - that's gonna be a pain in the ass.

hmmm... the resolution on my monitor is turned up enough to see all of them. Do you know how to change yours?

edit: no its not actually. I cant see them all. Bummer. You just have to scroll down. Oh well, if you have to do it, so does everyone else.

OK, I've never used firefox before, but I'm downloading it now just for this. I hope it's user freindly enough for me to figure it out quickly and easily. Thanks for the tip, cutback - I hope this works!

I downloaded it about 40mins before NYC1 went on sale. It's just like using IE but it's much faster and more stable (from what I can tell). Play around with it and good luck... just remember to clear out your history first... I forgot to do that before NYC2 and Newark.

I don't know, I still have to scroll - I guess there's no way of getting around it. Thank God my laptop at least has a mouse pad with a built-in scroll bar, otherwise I'd really be in trouble.

You will only need to scroll initially, once you have it fixed on that page, keep hitting F5 for refresh and you won't need to scroll again. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the shows that are "sold out" are removed overnight, it'll save confusion. Good luck ;)

how old is your computer? what is the screen size?

if it's fairly new, you should have a good resolution screen so go to your desktop and right click > properties....click on the 'settings' tab and you should see s slider where you can adjust your screen resolution....increase it and you should see more on your screen....hope this makes sense :)

good advices all around. regarding the ticket icon, another thing i noticed when trying for MSG1 was that the order of the ticket icon changed when they added the new show. it was stable (new show at the bottom) after a while, but then the tix were all gone by then. just something to keep in mind.

My laptop's just a few months old. 15.4" and my resolution is already at max.
Actually, it looks like I may not have to scroll - refreshing with Firefox (unlike with Explorer) does not take me back to the top of the page, nor back to the featured item (boots). This works with either F5 or the toolbar button.
    Advantage - me!
Thanks a bunch cutback and tone.
And thanks also to PJ_Panic for letting me know about the order of icons changing - that could've proved disastrous if I neglected the upper icons.

One thing that's worked for me...

When there are several shows, the size of the scroll bar gets smaller when they add another. I've used that as the key while furiously refeshing the "tickets" heading...

One thing not mentioned that worked for me is to have your finger on the enter button before hitting the buy button. If you hit buy, your likely to get a popup about a secure network connection, rather than have to move the mouse for OK - just hit enter and you'll move to the cart if you're lucky.

I'm convined the popup cost me tickets to Boston 1 today - got em back on Boston 2 though!

    Good luck
