my favorite quote

"I was tried in the most liberal county in the state of Texas, and indeed in the United States," DeLay told the TODAY Show's Matt Lauer in an exclusive interview. "The point is that this is a political campaign.

really...the most liberal county in all of the united states is in Texas?...

Wouldnt that mean it's a pretty average county? Seeing as most liberal in Texas isn't necessarily anywhere close to being most liberal in the US.

Sounds to me he's into bad shit and tries to play the partisan card. Kinda like that black politician in the wire that got out of a solid case by playing the race card...

It doesn't make any sense, but I read it more like mikepegg does:

"I was tried in the most liberal county in the state of Texas, and indeed in the United States,"

Seems to imply that the most liberal county in TX is also the most liberal county in the US. If that's the case, well then, friends, I've seen it all.

Surly he isn't suggesting that the political mindset of the constituents that live in a county effect a judges ruling in that county?

when you grasp at straws you have to grab them all

he is delusional, and very typical of politicians on all sides in that they cannot take responisbility for their own actions...even though the american people would be quick to forgive and forget the transgressions if the public figure committing them would just take responsibility.
