To be honest, I prefer the sound of the rough mixes to either the original or the redux version.
  • Original.

    Love the redux.

But, the original has more "feeling" too me (nostalgic reasons ofc)

  • I much prefer the original to the redux... I find redux to be quite a "dumb" listen, it's simple, loud and abrasive and to me has little soul or warmth. I guess it was made for people listning on PC speakers / mp3 players / car stereos. On a quality sound system the original puts the redux to shame, I've hardly listened to it since I got it.

the redux sounds great in my car but on my home stereo I prefer the original. I do love hearing those guitars in porch on the redux though...they jump out at you.

Maybe I haven't listened to redux in awhile, but I honestly couldn't tell what the difference was, except for a few extra vocals here and there. What am I missing?

redux production is more compressed to bring out more guitar and vocals more clearly. It's def noticible on "Garden" and "Black", and "porch" to me. No real major differences though, as far as origial track listing. Then there are the outtakes at the end from the original ten sessions.

  • I do agree with the more aggressive louder feel to the album, I remember seeing the band live during the ten touring era and They played so damn loud back then I think the redux version captures that feel on the album this time around, hope the new vs and vitalogy mixes will be good to, Im sure they will not disappoint.
