Just heard some of his work soooooooo good!! He was also
known as smog listen to these tunes!!!....sycamore....Honeymoon child .... and his Live album is soo good been listening to it on vinyl yeeeahhhhhh

    Do you know Will Oldham/Palace Brothers/Palace Music as well? They're all on the Drag City label I think There was a 'Hey Drag City' compilation album years ago with heaps of the groups on the label, most the same'ish mellow sound.

    Smog played here in NZ back in 97, when he sang 'something she did on he 14th of June' in Red Apple Falls all my friends looked at me & hugged me as about 6 months prior, on the 14th of June, I'd been hit by a car so yeah I know Smog/Bill Callahan's music well, has a special place for me. Not as special as the place PJ has but yeah.... :)

    Red Apple Falls is FAB. Wild Love & Julius Caesar are the other Smog CDs I have. I haven't checked out any more recent stuff, if there's anything newer. Days in the Wake is the BEST Will/Palace disc IMHO. Hey Drag City is a bit of a mix of stuff, some kinda random but that's cool too of course. If you are able to find it Alastair Galbraith who's got a track on it is from New Zealand!! Just had to tell you that. ;) Oh yeah & the Smog song on HDC is funny. Check out the lyrics for Smog "Your Face". ;)

    Oh, Arise Therefore is another fab Will/Palace album as well. Oh & Joya. A friend of mine says if she has another kid she's going to call it Joya. ;) She's a total Will fan! :)

    soooo good. to this point, 'apocalypse' has been the only callahan i've heard. i do have a palace music album and some stuff by bonnie "prince" billy, but this apocalypse album is spectacular. i definitely need to check out some of his other work.
