Saw a real estate guy and pretty much based on my income, the fact I am single and that property prices are ridiculously high I cannot even buy a friken small unit.
It's tough trying to enter the property market if you are my age in Australia right now, long gone are the days when single income earners could secure property.
Looks like I am stuck with the folks for a long time yet.
Beer and wine for me tonight and maybe some tunes.

Stay living with your folks and save every dollar you got. In no time you'll be able to buy your own place. Every dollar counts so stop spending your money on stupid shit you don't need!

Sorry to hear that, T_A... don't be discouraged. Things will turn around eventually in this unstable global economy. Good advice, though, to save what you can now.

The estate agent told you property prices are high? Go to a mortgage advisor. They will tell you based on your income exactly what you can afford. Usually their services are free until you buy something and then they take a small fee. I did that 5 years ago and it made the whole buying process a lot easier.
