Do you talk to yourself out loud?

I do sometimes. Mostly just under my breath though. And not so much that I come off as a lunatic or anything.

But at work, I do it a lot. Helps me think because I’m usually working with numbers. Co-workers think I’m crazy.

At Walmart (go figure) the other day I saw a lady having a full conversation with herself, as loud as can be. Now she, was crazy.

A lot of people have a small phone ear piece in their ear nowadays so it’s actually really hard to tell whether someone is talking to themselves so it’s often difficult to determine if their actually crazy. But I just assume that everyone is talking to themselves and crazy as those ear pieces are so annoying, unless of course you’re driving, thus either way I want nothing to do with that person.
  • Sure...why not. I'm doing it right now

I like cursing at myself out loud.

I sometimes curse out loud, does that count? :? :P I will sometimes say stuff kind of out loud to myself, but mainly when I'm angry/upset. And only when I'm alone, really.

EDIT: Oh and sometimes reading something out loud (complicated stuff, mainly) will help me understand it a little easier. But I do that under my breath, so other people shouldn't be able to hear it.

Talking to yourself is a sign of mental instability in my opinion. Some of my co-workers talk to themselves like you wouldn't believe, I just have to laugh under my breath at how crazy they are.
  • I often find myself asking very loudly, "are you fucking kidding me?"
I knew it all along, see?

I have long verbal discussions with the unlost dogs. They are excellent listeners, although it's a little off-putting when mid-conversation they decide to lick their butts or get up and wander into the other room.

And when write complicated reports, especially getting into details of surgical procedures, I read them out loud to myself quietly. I find that's the best way to pick up on typos and grammatical errors _ sometimes your ear will pick up what your eye skimmed over.

    ALL THE TIME :)

Most of my co-workers just laugh at me now, they're used to it

But i'm in area that is basically off from everyone else, except my boss, but it is a common area that people come through all the time, and some people will stop and say, are you talking to me, and I just say, no, no, move along, I'm just talking to myself again :D

I get pretty aggressive in the car and shout things that if that person heard them, it'd probably lead to a physical confrontation.

I talk to myself all the time. It's fortunate that I often have the dog with me, it makes me look more sane.

I was walking through town yesterday making quiet raspy noises with my lips. Unfortunately it went wrong and I suddenly blew a raspberry. I got a few strange looks.

Quite the opposite.. Talking to yourself is a sign of higher intelligence.

Now if you're talking to an imaginary friend, that's different, but organizing, solving problems out loud signifies a high IQ.

    and yes, I do. :D

In the shower or in the car. Rehearsing my pleadings. That's usually when the inspiration comes. And now that I read it, I realize it may sound weird.

My imaginary friend completely disagrees with you. She told me in no uncertain terms.
