  • NO END IN SIGHT

    We're gripping the wheel
    Taking over the sky
    What a weapon to wield
on the back of a lie

    I am invincible
    In the machine
    Kill for what has become
    The American dream

    She's holding the lead
    He's wearing the gloves
    No morals. No need
    Because it came from above

    I am invincible
    In the machine
    Pray for what has become
    The American dream
    And it all breaks out
    All fell a sunder
    When you're told stand down
    Leave em to plunder

Momma it don't sit with me
What I've done and what i've seen
    Like generations gone before
I rue the day I went to WAR.
    Last words. Last words out.

    Scars

This here's a story about life.
Mary grew up close to her Mom, her Mom died.
Mary turned to drugs when she was 16.
    She had an addictive personality.

With time life turned darker and darker...

She met Dave when she was 18.
He was using her for her body.
She told him about their pregnancy.
    Dave quickly left them absentee.

With time life turned harder and harder...

At night she'd cry, wondering why, life was so hard, a voice whispered "please heal her scars".

Mary turned 19, she had her baby
It pushed a swift change in personality
Mary got a job working 7 to 5
She put in hours to buy them time

With time life grew clearer and clearer...

At night she'd cry, wondering why, life was so hard, a voice whispered "please heal her scars".

By the time Mary turned 40
    She was happily married
To a man who believed in the word family
    They gave their children everything

With time life grew easier and easier

At night she'd cry, wondering why, life is so hard, for those who could not heal their scars.
At night she'd lie, wondering why, life could be so hard... whispering... whispering...
"Please, please heal, please heal... their scars. Their scars."

    Dated 13/4/08...

you made a decision a while ago that you're not ready for that
you said you already new what your life's gonna be but don't fall into the trap
don't talk it about it no so how i was i to know and now you've sent me away
all i can think of now is when we both woke up i wished that was everyday

no i didn't want this to end
you have a heart you can mend

i'll give you the time and the space you need but i won't throw in the towel
we could be so much together why can't we be like that now
i wanna change your, your life choice around and turn your wrong to a right
so won't you tell em what it is that you need to let me into your life

no i didn't want this to end
you have a heart you can mend

(come back to bed...come back to me...)

one of my rare writings that is actually completed and has actual music

my favorite from what I've written

    "20 Somethings"

Hey get up its time to go
No tears or time to grow old
    Shoes on, time to go
    This time on our own

Hey honey the kids are full
That can was just enough...just enough
Hey honey the kids are fine
    There's just enough...just enough
Hey sis, they think they have us fooled
    There's not enough...not enough

22...What am I gonna do with you?
22... what am I gonna do with you?

    All grown...22
    Maybe now I understand you.
    The choice was your right.
And your choice was tough and right.
    But not Easy
    Easy...

Hey honey the kids are full
That can was just enough...just enough
Hey honey the kids are fine
    There's just enough...just enough
Hey sis, they think they have us fooled
    There's not enough...not enough

22...What am I gonna do with you?
22... what am I gonna do with you?

This act wont be hard to follow.
But every year is like a poison apple.
I guess it wasn't hard enough.
Seems I LOVE to send it all back again

    and again

22...what am I gonna do with you?
    When you're 22...hope I envy you.
"Well, I think this band is incapable of sucking."
-my dad after hearing Not for You for the first time on SNL .

    you wrote this song?
    words and music?

the melody line and really the whole arrangement of the song is great.

did you put the video together too?

    That's' a real catchy tune!
    ..the voice is good

    thank you for sharing it

Thank you! Yes, I wrote the entire thing. I have two music projects:

    1) Monkey Trick:
    http://www.monkeytrickband.com/
This is my band... our style is similar to PJ, some loud aggressive tunes, yet also some ballads. We just released our first 12 song album.
We have videos for most songs on youtube.

    2) 13inlet
    http://www.13inlet.com/
This is more singer/songwriter-oriented, more pop-ish... I would compare this more to Jack Johnson. I will release a debut in June for this one.
I have a few tunes recorded already on the site.

Feel free to check them both out, please spread word and let me know if you want any free mp3s... since you're a PJ-fan... ;)

  • My old band broke up. It was more important for my drummer to sleep with my ex than keep harmony in the band. Drummers. . . que sera I suppose.

This was my favorite song we did. It had a killer bass lick.

    All the Same

    1,2,3,4

    Pay no mind
    Waste your time
    Praise the crest
    Damn the rest

Rich man shuns the beggar's cry, In neighboring graves each soon will lie
Young refuse the elder's word, A life of wisdom goes unheard
Come alive and give me death, for at your hands I've no regrets
This life you've left me with it's all the same,
    Now give me change

    1,2,3,4

    Heed no sign
    Stay in line
    Kill the cure
    Make damn sure

Weak man held down by the strong, one day he swears to right the wrong
Sick man spends his days alone, this solemn life is all he's known
Come alive and give me death, for at your hands you've no regrets
This life you've left me with it's all the same,
    Now give me change
If hope can grow from dirt like me ...
