Hello people of Pearl Jam.

I will be in Seattle for a conference the week of 1/22-1/27.
Staying next to the convention center downtown.

I was looking for things I must see and do while I am visiting PJ's birthplace and "working".

Local places to eat, bars to see and drink, cool things to see.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

    Pioneer Square:
The New Orleans-zydeco, Dixieland, blues, jazz music good food http://www.neworleanscreolerestaurant.com/
The Central Saloon-Seattle's oldest bar http://centralsaloon.com/
Cowgirls-meat market and mechanical bulls...just like the movie: http://www.cowgirlsinc.com/venue.aspx

    PikePlace/Downtown/Waterfront:
The Pike Pub-Good food, good beer, good place to watch the people at the market: http://www.pikebrewing.com/
McCormick and Schmicks-great seafood (finer dining, they like reservations, but we've always been able to get a table on a spur of the moment): http://www.mccormickandschmicks.com/seattle/
The Crab Pot-great seafood, casual dining, they have dishes where they will put butcher paper on the table and dump all the crab/mussels/clams on the table: http://www.thecrabpotseattle.com/
Anthonys-great seafood, awesome views of the waterfront: http://www.anthonys.com/restaurants/locations.html
The Pink Door-very popular place to go: http://www.thepinkdoor.net/

and I will have to throw in The 5 point...they are closer to Seattle Center, a quick monorail ride (90 seconds I think) or a good walk from Pike Place....great greasy spoon, 24/7, I always put $5 in the jukebox and play PJ, Alice, Nirvana, Soundgarden and MLB. If you're a dude, make sure you use their bathroom to look at the Space Needle thru the periscope. Chicken Fried Steak is awesome: http://the5pointcafe.com/About.php
another shameless plug: http://www.redmillburgers.com/ go to the website-'nuff said

not really sure what you like to do but this is a start. Really, when you get here, take a walk around, or ask for a Seattle Weekly and read thru that, there are restaurant reviews and the like. If you are more open minded, pick up The Stranger-Seattle Weekly's deranged party animal little brother (another weekly paper, sometimes found next to Seattle Weekly, but not always) have fun!

just had to edit to fix my links...

We are going back! Trip is planned for July. We stayed 3 nights (worked out to about 1.5 days to see the sights) last year, this year we are spending 5 nights in the city before heading for a relaxing time on Harstine Island. Since we have more time to spend, I decided to revisit this thread. We are definitely going to the Crab Pot...just looked at the link that was posted above...we really need to eat one of those Seafest meals. Food dumped on the table and mallets for all...the kids will love it!

Go to Lowell's in the Pike Place Market for breakfast and get the breakfast tacos. I did this for 4 straight mornings and could have for 100 more.
