You're a damn genius for this find. One of my favorite performances of the song, haven't watched this video for ages. It's perfect; there's nothing else to be said about this performance, except that it's perfect.

Dimi - is the version on Live on Ten Legs played too fast? I need an experts opinion.....
    Its...too..FAST.....you are 1000% right...

    NAIS - 2000
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30BlueyXoyg

    NAIS - LOXL
    http://www.youclubvideo.com/audio/15433 ... -legs-2011

Performance time in 2000 is about 5:40, and on LOXL is about 5:00. So they sped it up by roughly 10%

But this is not new for their songs. It seems they don't want to have a slower pace anymore. Remember how "I Got Shit" used to be played?

    I Got Shit - 1995 (4 minutes of playing)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G55ZcQszGXo

I Got Shit - 2010 (3:30 minutes of playing - minus the 15 second ending that was added)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4kcfwoV ... re=related

These songs used to have a timid, paced, melancolic way about them. Now its all about speed. Songs like Evenflow and SOLAT used to have an awesome groove. Now it's all about speed. Its unfortunate, but they've been making significant changes to their music for 15 years. Its nothing new.... but it's why the early live versions of songs are my holy grail(s), and why I easily passed on LOXL from the start. ...and it's why I'm thrilled about boots coming out with the VS/Vitalogy reissue!
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

Right on Hoff. LOXL NAIS makes me think about The movie Big Daddy when they go to the park and warn the skaters - "SLOW DOWN!!" .. and the skaters respond "THANK YOU!!!"

Given To Fly is one of my all time faves and I was lucky enough to see it live both times I've seen the band...
Both times it was played TOO fast for my liking...
I want a slow "original" version... PLEASE!!!

All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

I'm exactly opposite as you on that one. I really like the faster live tempo batter of Given to Fly. Now when I listen to the studio version it just doesn't seem right to me anymore.

fair enough... i like the way the studio version slowly elevates from slow to fast.... kinda like it's taking off... the live version is already in flight when it starts... just my humble opinion... :)
