So I took today from work and wow...what a spectacular decision that was. Its raining in St. Paul, so not only will that get rid of some of the snow, but it also makes being super lazy at home all the better.

Here's what I've done...

-Slept in
-Cleaned the kitchen (my wife will be so proud)
-Ran on the treadmill
-Read (traded off between #8 of "The Walking Dead" and "Middlemarch" by George Eliot; both ends of the spectrum there ;) ) while 5-year-old 15lb cat laid on my stomach and 2-year old 9lb cat laid on my legs
-Played Call of Duty on Xbox
-Watched some crappy college bowl games

The best part about it? No work tomorrow either. Full slate of college football, basketball and hockey to watch on TV. Haha! This is just what I needed. :D

Anyone else enjoying a New Year's Eve eve day off?

    drove/rode 2K miles
    ate a bunch of food
    walked a bunch of miles
    spent a bunch of cash

    then came home

all i accomplished today was picking up the cat from day care and renewing license plates and DL.

    Dude, what an awesome day.

I went to work today, but made it right by drinking beer on my lunch break.

    naughty boy....

i did that a couple of times at my first real job. nothing like a beer at lunch. one of my coworkes did it once and got caught. he had a cool boss, so he only got yelled at.

i was once on a work cruise. during the AM meeting, they said feel free to have a drink or two during the afternoon, but don't show up to the late afternoon meeting drunk. nobody did, but there were a lot of hangovers/tired people at the morning meetings the last day

I really see no harm in having a beer or two at lunch w/ your meal... it's just beer.

Now, buying a tall-boy and parking in a low-traffic area whilst listening to Drive-By Truckers very loudly and drinking said tall-boy... that might be a different story. Sadly, it definitely wasn't the first time I've done this.
