Its like running back
into a burning building
to turn off the stove

or trying to cure the headache
by cutting off the head

inhaling under water
to rid oneself of thirst

its the dog chasing its tail
not knowing how to act
when it finally succeeds

don't fight the air that fills your lungs
its your friend

but am I?

Monday through Friday
8 to 5 is fine
better than not at all,..
I suppose

I'll wear the mask
that you have chosen for me,.
I'll play my part

I'm a different person
for everyone I know,...

the masquerade ball
that never ends

I grow tired of the changing masks,..
what's wrong with wearing
the one I was born with,..
why will that not do for everyone?
