According to Rolling Stone magazine, that is. It's #5, right before Gaving Rossdale and Santana's performance of Bang a Gong:

Stone Temple Pilots’ Reunion Tour They got back together with Scott Weiland, who had somehow managed to bumble his way out of the mega-successful Velvet Revolver. But the tour ended prematurely when Weiland showed up late for a gig in Houston where he had an onstage meltdown, telling the crowd, “I started drinking again.” Well, there’s always Skating with the Stars.

  • Well they kicked ass at PNC Bank Arts Center in NJ when I saw em, so at least it didn't start affecting him too much yet when I saw them in September.

  • and they kicked my ass in Nov of 2009 and July of 2010, so I don't know what the fuck they are talking about. It was a hugely successful reunion, as far as I can see.

I do believe their "reunion tour" was in 2008.

I'll have to say that I have seen them three times on their "reunion tour" and they have sounded great. Just great shows all around. Granted it wasn't the STP I remember seeing in the 90's, but hell, I am just glad they are back together, touring and have released a new album. Hopefully Scott can get it together fully so they can continue. Too much talent in the group as a collective to waste.

Rolling Stone are fuck heads. The reunion tour ended 2 years ago and they've been back together for nearly 3 years now. The 2010 tour is/was in promotion of their new album, it's not the reunion tour anymore. Also Weiland wanted out of Velvet Revolver, and their sorry asses haven't done shit for nearly 3 years.
  • yeah, I've always found it funny that the boys in VR have said (and the media too) that Scott was fired. It was pretty obvious when you watch the video of their last show together (and the interviews that follow with Slash and Co) that Weiland quit, and they just saved face by saying he was fired after the fact. I'm not holding my breath for their announcement of their new singer.

The first STP show I saw was Nov 15 2009. They hadn't yet finished their album, they played no new songs, so to me that was part of their reunion tour. Maybe it wasn't officially, but that's what I meant by it.

  • Yeah the 2009 tour was kind of an extension/in between thing.
