So I've read there is a movie version of Jack Kerouac's "On the Road" in the works.

The Sal Paradise and Dean Moriarity characters are going to be played by relative unknowns. My first quest is: why?? I just don't see how they can do the book justice. I'll admit I'm curious but there are some books that just need to be left as books in my opinion, and this is one - another would be "Catcher in the Rye". But I'm sure someone will try their hand at that one too.

If someone tries to make an On the Road video game I'm going postal though. :x :geek:

It would be difficult to do this book justice.

Have you seen The Last Time I Committed Suicide. It was based on a letter Neal wrote to Jack.

Viggo Mortenson is playing Wiliam Burrough's character which is really cool. I think he is the Old Bull in the book.

Plus Amy adams and Kirsten Dunst are in it i dig both of them. I also read that Terrance Howard and Steve Busceimi would play minor roles.

I too am skeptical but it won't stop me from checkin it out.
