I watched this show last night in an "altered" state of consciousness, and it was creepy. It was totally a soft core porn movie disguised as a regular TV show. It was just overtly sexual and it become totally trite with its smug wittiness and prodigious display of sexual gratuity. I don't know if I'll ever be able to watch it again in the same manner again, and I used to love this show!!!
Yea, who ever would have thought that would be the theme of the show given it's title.
Oooooooh I see what you did there... but my point is that it is overly-gratiuitous and smug. The show used to be about 90% story and 10% sex and drugs. That was a perfect ratio. Now it 90% sex and drugs and 10% story. And Hank's wit has lost its edge... it just seems worn out.
Also, what the fuck is up with the showing plugging that girl band (Queens of Dogtown)? When Becca plays the guitar they don't even attempt to make it look real. Although I have to say, that was a terrific cover of Alice in Chains last night.

yeah, i think its time to wrap things up... not sure what the ideal ending would be... happily ever after doesnt seem to fit... and hanks too cool for suicide... i can see why the writers keep going back to the easy answer... SEX
i couldn't separate sasha's mom from her character on "rescue me" so it was confusing... but DAMN moody... good work!
I will always hold dear seasons 1 and 2, and to a lesser extent season 3... but this season needs to be the end. Hopefully they do it with style and it doesn't involve Hank going to AA (God that would be horrible) or offing himself or with the family getting back together.
This show is kinda like Weeds in that seasons 1 and 2 (and maybe 3) were AWESOME and then the show just got way too chaotic and misguided. Weeds needs to end also... it should have ended last season. That show was great when they were in Agrestic and she was peddling the stuff, Doug and Andy were doing their thing, and Nancy wasn't dating a drug lord or had a baby...

last night's episode was actually really good... I didn't have the douche chills down my spine at all, due to the lack of overly gratuitous sex scenes resembling a low budget soap opera. The sex scenes were all with Runkel and all FUNNY, so I'm cool with that. The last part with Hank and Karen's dialogue... bummer man.

Last season seemed like that were trying too hard and grasping for storylines. This year is more believable, and it has also shown more emotion. I like the dialog from all the characters better in this season too.

that was pretty great. I can remember some party dinners in my past that I've hosted that spun out of control, but of course nothing to that extent. Back when I lived in AZ we hosted a Thanksgiving dinner for all of our friends - most of them didn't have family in AZ and neither did we. I think it was 2007... drunk before the guests got there. We all had a "belly stretcher" (green) before we ate. Wine, liquor, laughs. Everyone eats and then the "E" is broke out by a guest about an hour or so afterwards! By 4pm or so we're in the pool, naked... everyone. People are having sex... MOSTLY with their partners, some not. Most of the people leave at about 6pm or so, a few stay and I break out the "fungi." By about 5am the next morning we finally go to bed and it took about 3 days to recover. ahh, the memories of a different life.
