Let it Snow, and Blow, and Flood...

Not a great shot by any means, but it shows you what happens in our little seaside town when a December snowstorm blows through. This was the No Name Storm.
This photo was taken looking up a street that leads right to the beach. At the top of this street is a T intersection that is Shore Drive. What you're seeing is a wave breaching the seawall and running right down the street.
Mr. Unlost took it from the front seat of a fire engine that was pulling down the street, ahead of the wave that just breached the sea wall.
I suspect that engine was driving kinda fast...

We were convinced it was a little warmer today and may have reached zero.
(Though nothing like '78)
Hopefully this one isn't too bad. My biggest concern right now is not having the wind knock power out.
I'm thinking the same thing. I expect we may lose it here, too.
I charged up the laptop, the iPad and the iPhone. It will be just like "Little House On The Prairie" but with a lot of Apple technology.
Can't imagine ever having anything like '78 again. My brother and sister-in-law were evacuated by the National Guard, via a Duck, from their home off Shore Drive.
Here's a video _ some of this was shot on the street next to mine. I remember walking down to the Center when we could finally get out. No vehicles other than emergency apparatus. And we couldn't believe when we got to the beach and saw how bad it was. Mr. Unlost's parents live in that section (still do) and they had 8 feet of seawater in their basement and baby lobsters on the front lawn.

Must be something in the salt air and jet engine fumes... Makes for exquisite taste in music.
