Nice set list, previews sound good. Is it worth picking up? My wife's favorite band....

Nah, my husband and I were thinking about going but by the time we decided to go, they were sold out! I was really into them when they came out with Double Allergic (my fav album of theirs) but kinda went off them when they came out with Vulture Street. Bernard Fanning is very talented though, even his solo stuff is very clever, maybe he'll do more of that now??

Yeah, DA is one of my fav's. My favorite by far is Odyssey #5. They only toured the US once (for that record actually) and I got to see them twice on that tour. One at a bar where maybe like 20 people came? I met the band afterwards and probably talked with Bernie for near an hour about the record. All very cool guys and easy to talk to.

The last gig was good not great. For the last gig of their career it was not targeted towards the fans but rather iTunes. The DVD however is supposed to be good

I think they went a little commercial after Odyssey but I think they just evolved and were changing as people. I guess they wanted to make as much money as they could before they left.:lol: That money has to last 'em a few years!!:lol:

"Vulture Street" and "..Hotel Existence" were a bit strange. They seemed to be recapturing more of their former selves with "Golden Rule" but then broke up. "Tea & Sympathy" is a fucking amazing record. I for one hope BF continues releasing solo stuff.

Yeah I think when he came out with that it sounded so much fresher than the albums he had been doing with the band at that time.

  • i went to 3 shows on the tour including the "finale", which was quite underwhelming. youre better off finding a couple of the other shows from the tour from megaupload et al which were recorded on tour by abbey road studios. the initial release of the show on itunes was edited heavily and had no banter or thankyous included. once the complaints rolled in, they re-released it as 1 continuous track (which is also shit).

the whole finale thing was so amateur. ive got the dvd which is ok, but im also a bemused by the inclusion of perth footage which seemed a but lacklustre from the crowd.

ah well, at least after 12 yrs they finally brought capoicity onto the setlist. only took 12 yrs for them to realise their best song and to show the masses how epic it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hg32LcH_I68
Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.
