    Whether or not it is still around down the road, it is important for everyone to have their own retirement plan as well.....IRA, 401K,Pension, etc.

    Social Security is merely a suppliment to other retirement income.

    When I retire, I will have a nice pension and an annuity fund that will build up over the next 3 decades. I will hope that Social Security will be there but half of me says the politicians will take that away to fund their own private-interests.
