Ok so I've got a fancy dress part coming up, the theme is characters from films, and I'm really stuck for ideas.
I really want to come up with something original, but it needs to be something people will recognise. Oh and it needs to be cheap-ish to put together. One last thing, I'm male and 29, so no female characters! And no the Borat mankini is not an option!!!

Cheers!

Go as Braveheart dude, turn a sack into a tshirt, long haired wig, hire or buy an old kilt, paint your face blue, charge around yelling "Freedom" throughout the party. Plus you'll be a real talking point due to Mel Gibsons fall from grace.

Get really thin, buy a battered down coat, grow a scraggly beard and long hair, and you can go as The Man. (Viggo Mortensen's character in "The Road.")

Man, I would look horrendous as a woman!

The problem I have is that a couple of my friends take their fancy dress very seriously, so they've already done a lot of the good ones like Jack Sparrow, Mad Hatter, Avatar, The Joker...

I just want something really different that nobody else will have thought of.

I go to San Diego Comic Con every year, and while most costumes there are definitely a lot of work, there are some that can definitely be done fairly easily, but are pretty good. My favorite is Vegas Boba Fett

You could also take any iconic star and zombie them (like a Zombie blues brother, etc.). Heath Ledger Jokers, Duff Man (Simpsons), Video Game characters, etc. are all pretty popular too. Do a google image search for Comic Con Costumes, and you'll get plenty to choose from.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.
