wow youth and manhood 4th? i'd probably rank them in the order they came out, depending on the last one.

because of the times is great though. i think it gets knocked because of how different it was than the first two but i love it. i was rocking it out at the gym this morning.

    Just my opinion.

That Knocked Up bassline is so freakin' awesome.

always my warm up/stretching music at the gym..

They have grown on me with each album ... I really like Come Around The Sundown ... Pickup Truck is a beautiful track ... if they keep going from strength to strength I could see them slowly moving into Black Crowes style longevity

Wish they didn't have the celeb crowd hangers on though

Yeah, Pickup Truck is a really beautiful song.
"I said u call that a pickup truck"', great song , good music, good stuff.

All the fuss is about them being really pretty awesome. They have a very distinct and original sound, and they are evolving with each album - I know a lot of people give them crap saying they've sold out etc etc....but I don't have any problem with a band's musical style evolving. I love ALL their albums. I was listening to Because of the Times the other day after reading this thread, and I love it. It's a lot different to the first and second albums, but still awesome. Just as Come Around Sundown is different to the first three, I just don't really have a bad thing to say about them, other than I wish they'd put their tickets on sale AFTER Christmas, so I could go see them......GRRRRRR!!!!

Oh, but Australia is awesome as well! hehehe. :D
  • I really enjoy them. In my opinion, they are one for the few "newer" bands that are worth keeping.
    Hearts and thoughts they fade....
    fade away...

I am at peace with my lust.....for Eddie.

  • Got "Come Around Sundown" today. Anyone got a quick review?
  • Got "Come Around Sundown" today. Anyone got a quick review?

It's more similar to Only By The Night, than the other three, but I'd say better than it as well. Just seems to have a bit more substance. Not sure if that makes sense, but I know what I mean!! I'd say it's kind of a mix between albums three and four, with what's becoming typical KOL sound. They seem to me to have really to have made an album that yes, is more 'commercial' sounding than their first, but also not totally all about topping the charts. Some of the lyrics are amazing. If you liked the last one, you'll love this one. :)

The first two albums were phenomenal.
3rd was decent, but not up to the standard of the previous ones.
4th had a couple of very good songs but overall was fairly drab and didn't have any lasting appeal
I haven't heard the new album but the singles are absolutely awful.
To me they're becoming the musical equivalent of Orson Welles - Started at the top and working their way down.
