  • No no no...that was pretty bizzare...

I really hope Paul Rudd was paid A LOT extra for that skit....
"...And I fight back in my mind. Never lets me be right.
I got memories. I got shit so much it don't show."
  • The answer to Why is that the show has gotten to be so lame they can't think of anything really funny about Christmas.
"The stars are all connected to the brain."
  • I watched last week's show, and it was pretty funny. In fact there was a skit that had me rolling on the floor laughing, but I didn't want to post about here for fear of starting another Potato Chip Sketch thread.

This sketch was kind of lame.

SNL looks like they're getting desperate.

That was a lame sketch. The episode a few weeks back with Anne Hathaway as host was hilarious....the royal family sketch, the wizard of Oz sketch and the weekend update Guy Fieti parody were all great!

The kissing family sketch was good a year ago when it was James Franco. Had me howling with laughter, Bill Hader, especially.

And I found the Paul Rudd kissing family sketch from last year:

    oh wow...
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

    Pfff

what is there to be "freaked out" by? it's comedy.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

This is actually not bad by today's SNL standards, which is still absolutely horrendous. And I don't understand what you have a problem with exactly. It's over the top and ridiculous, which I think they were going for. I say the more homophobic/erotic comedy the better

True, but if it's comedy you're after, pretty much everything on TV is crap. So might as well watch it.

it's always the cool thing to say snl is not funny as it used to be. It's been said for the last 35 years. If the first season aired today. everyone will be saying the same thing.

And this is an even cooler thing today. Legitimately, this show hasn't been solid since '02-ish. The senior writers are absolutely horrible now. Seth Myers. Seth fucking Myers is a senior writer. Terrible.

  • The show goes through cycles. Some good years, some off years. Sometimes it's brilliant, sometimes it's stoo-pid.
I can remember watching it during its first couple of seasons and it was uneven a lot of the time. It stayed on because it didn't have any competition.
The current cast/writers are not what I'd call outstanding but SNL may pick up again.

It's been at least 8 years. What it needs is an alternative, we need something new, and competitive. Seriously, there has been no one of iconic value to come out of that show since Will Farrell or Tina Fey.

I've never really watched SNL. I am usually the last guy to get wind of a funny skit.

other than the farley/farrell related skits, this one is one of my favorites. tremendous

never saw that one, that's pretty good.

Reminds me of a stand up bit Chris Rock said about harassment. "What's sexual harassment? That's when and ugly dude wants some. If Clarence Thomas looked like Denzel Washington, we wouldn't know about Anita Hill. She'd be like, "oh, Clarence, you so nasty! Your fine self.."

Yeah..kind of regurgitated material, not so original.. Although the enthusiasm with the dude to dude tongue action should be applauded in some circles...I guess, haha

    Not that bad, seen worse..
