Dragging Down Plenty

When each to each the sailor shows
the wind behind him sails intones
he's needing ever thinking of the sea

The calmer storm won't stop him now
he's pulled the stern up from the bow
there's surging
can't keep surging
what he feels

A patterned wind a broken bow
whose stronger force has shut him down
and yet to fight he's calmer by the sea

A constellation-guiding mast
he's stronger with, but can't get past
the whispers that shout at him
when he flows
and sinks right down

The moon lied once is what he said
It took its place
on top his bed
The sailor never wonders
what she needs

Because there's
~~~~~~~Rats
they float him over
and yet
~~~~he doesn't know it~~~~
but they are there~~~~
he walks
or stands~~~~~
they sense of him
and back they stare~~~
~~~~~~the rats were almost always never there
~~~~

Never
sunsets comes around
the moon's full up
The captain's down
the sky is fuller sailing
when that need is deeper plowed

Alone alone he captures me
No light from land there's nothing, see
the stars no sextant misses when you
come and seek whats there
right on the ground

The sights are worn
no longer new
Too much to bear I look at you
Its home that's' never ending
never filling
never found
and thus home-bound.

    often i think it does me good to read other's writings.... and if i were to point to one particular piece of writing.. i would.. at least for now.... point to this..

    i may have said this here too many times but few poems have affected me as deeply as Samuel T Coleridge's Rime of the Ancient Mariner... which i'd been reading through shitty dark times...

    this poem... Half Full... has affected me ... deeply..... thank you so much...

    this is too good... too fucking good.... the name of the poem just kills me.... "dragging down plenty"

    .. God help me

    "A patterned wind'
    That's nice. The wind is not just blowing, it's blowing patterned. Maybe meaning that it's done this before and this is what works, this pattern. The wind has an objective.

    Oh ya, that's good shit man.

    "Sextant' <--- Thanks for the new word too.
