The more I hear 'Gone' the more I think Ed should have saved it for "Into the wild"...

Especially the Christmas single demo version. The song has the perfect feel & even the perfect lyrics for 'Into the wild'. "The gas in my tank feels like money in the bank"..."This time I'm letting go of it all"..."The lights of this city, they have lost all feeling"...

It can't just be me that thinks this way...

    Into the wild wasn't even a thought in ed's mind when he wrote gone.
    It does fit into the wild perfectly though :)

    as far as "gone" being on "into the wild"... it would still be dead weight just like it is on "pearl jam"... ITW is perfect as is

    I agree that it would have been a good fit for the movie. :) He wrote it a bit too early though. ;) While it's not my favorite song I still like it, and especially love his voice on it.

    The more I hear 'Gone', the more I feel that it is one of Eddies/PJs worst songs.

    That and 'No More'.

    Gone should have stayed on Pearl Jam , but have been recorded as the solo demo version.........much more of an impact.

    Into the Wild is a perftect album.....there is no need for 'Gone' on it!
