I'm old to the kids, it's true

I'm old to the kids, it's true
but I don't want to grow old
It's terrible to understand phrases that only seemed like lame complaints before
crouchity, grouchy, cane-shaking phrases like:
"Youth is wasted on the young!"
For, when I was young, I didn't realize how time moved
and it just keeps moving, faster and faster
it doesn't stop!
so wasting it really IS more important than it seemed back then
it keeps going out the door
physical beauty isn't forever
at least, not in the same way
so to take it for granted was stupid
health and energy aren't possessions forever either
so to take them for granted is wrong
opportunities aren't always as plentiful
(young people just behave as if they are)
yeah, I hate that I have lived about half my life already
and it's only now that I realize that it's as fragile as a flower petal
there's that decay and those time limits which are built into the system

    real beauty comes from inside the heart, you are very beautiful ! live it everyday and enjoy it,life gives opportunity's each and everyday, 18 or 80 blind crippled or crazy live it like it's your last day.

    I like young people, but it's hard not to feel old when you spend a lot of time with 18 & 19 year old students!
