iPad... where to start?

So I swore I would never get one of these things, but then at my wife's work's Christmas party her boss went nuts and threw in some amazing gifts for Dirty Santa and we somehow left with a 16 GB iPad. Anyway, she's letting me have it and I'm not going to open it until Christmas (also to give me time to get a nice case, screen protector, etc), but I was wondering what some of the better (preferably free) apps are for it? I know it does Netflix, Kindle, etc. (the Marvel comic app looks cool even though I know it's not free). Obviously the commercials make it look cool as shit but do any of you really get much use out of it?

Yeah we scored that along with a Flip HD video recorder. Others got a Dell netbook, Sony Blu-Ray player, and a 360 w/Kinect among other things. Her boss is loaded and likes to see people get really nasty with Dirty Santa when awesome gifts are at stake.

Not so sure what you are into but there are some great crossword puzzle apps, a pearl jam app, and other puzzle like apps

everything else is gravy

i haven't even scratched the surface of the apps

but it has cool games... its good if you use public transportation
me personally my work computer blocks 90 % of the websites i visit..so i make use of it at work

nhl 2011 is cool for 99 cents

i would have never bought one but it was a gift

angry birds, nhl11, some chopper games (freaking kids are always putting new stuff on)

i saw on the advert a thing where you could plug in your guitar? I don't know if that's real or not, or if you need an app, but it looked cool
