It's pretty obvious it all comes down to money. The current system is the cheapest way for the band to get them out and the best way for them to make more money. I'm assuming it cost them a great deal more to have Brett mix them all as opposed to whoever is doing it now. With the current system, they are charging the same amount of money for CDR's.0

Brett is highly sought after. A few years back he was on the road with REM I believe. As far as the business model they have now. It has served them and there consumer base well for 3 years running. So I imagine it's more affordable for them and consumers. Barret Jones is not cheap to have on payroll I imagine. I am pretty sure of that. He has been in the business for awhile and worked with big named acts other than Pearl Jam. I think he is just more available and the band camp likes him doing it so far apparently. Fans for the most do to it seems in my humble opinion. Brett still does most of the band's mixing on special stuff like the Gorge Box Set from 2007 and the latest Live On Ten Legs release due in January. He has even done some work on there albums and various stuff. I am sure there are plenty of things we don't know details to or do not take into consideration that may be preventing Brett from being there main guy like in the past.0 -
