Rock, pop, country, oldies, international -- artists of all genres hit the road and came back with full pockets to prove it. Watch videos from the year's top 25 tours, and relive your moment in the front row. Bon Jovi huh?

U2 would have done more shows if Bono hadn't gotten hurt.

I want to know if they included festival show's in this list because this is an error. The Black Eyed Peas played here @ the Halifax Commons last summer and didn't sell out. Was that show even accounted for?

    :?
  • 69 shows in a year...wow

and look at the money these bands are getting

thats GROSS earnings. take out of that hire of the venue, security, the building of the stage if required, insurance, flooring(terraplas) if needed*, absorbing credit card fees on purchase of tix, promoters percentage.......

    * the flooring for last years australia pj tour cost $700000

It is pretty crazy that Tiesto is in the top 25. He only plays nightclubs, but he does charge $150 a pop. I always wonder who the hell plays $150 to see him play a cd. Do Do Do Do Do Do Do.

What a depressing list and the Jovi at the top makes it even worse. It has been confirmed what I always thought that generally the public have no taste! :?

I think one of the more telling stats is the Number of Shows vs. Number of Sell outs...while some bands were at 100% a good chunk of them are sub 50%...

Big difference between gross earnings and profit...

kinda hard for a band to be on that list when they don't actually tour
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
    Sammi: Wanna just break up?

I research and keep tabs on PJ's boxscores, this is what I've gathered from Billboard from their 2010 East Coast tour.

    Total Gross: $10,227,193
Number of Shows: 11 (not inc Buffalo show as no info and also New Orleans as it's a festival)
    Total Attendance: 175,131
    Number of Sell-Outs: 9

As you can see IF they did a full US tour, they'd have made this years top 25.
    My PJ shows:
    London 28/10/96, Las Vegas 11/7/98, London 29/5/00, Nurnburg 11/6/00, Prague 14/6/00, Salzburg 18/6/00, Verona 20/6/00, Milan 22/6/00, Zurich 23/6/00, New York 8-9/7/03, Boston 11/7/03, Reading Festival 27/8/06, Shepards Bush 11/8/09, Berlin 15/8/09, Manchester 17/8/09, London 18/8/09, Dublin 22/6/10, Belfast 23/6/10, London (HRC) 25/6/10, Alpine Valley (PJ20) 3-4/9/11, Manchester 20-21/6/12, Leeds 8/7/14, Milton Keynes 11/7/14 To be continued....

As you can see IF they did a full US tour, they'd have made this years top 25.

based off of these numbers, if they did a typical full tour of 70 shows, they would have grossed 65,082,137 and earned the #6 spot.

Lady Gaga is making the best of her fame.....striking while the iron is hot!

I am surprised that the BEPs have so much staying power.
