granted i take 'people say....' type stuff with a grain of salt but i was curious...if this is true would it change any of his supporters opinions? all i hear about is how much blue dog democrats suck (unless it's election time, then we have to support them no matter what because they have a D next to their names, then after the election they go back to bitching about them and how they must go) so if obama really did say he is a blue dog democrat would it matter to you?
i'm guessing no, you would still say i MUST vote for him next election because he will be better than any republican and i can vote for whoever i want next time. the reason i think this is bullshit is because that is the same lie many of you have said EVERY election cycle i was able to vote in! the reality is that 'next time' will never come because you will always be too afraid of the republicans and cower in fear throwing all your support against the only other corporate approved candidate.
sigh and we wonder why things never change.

The Daily Kos wrote:I have defended Obama for the past two years. I always felt he was a progressive but was just being pragmatic. Now I feel like a fool. Here it is straight from the horse's mouth (or blue dog's):
"Privately, Mr. Obama has described himself, at times, as essentially a Blue Dog Democrat, referring to the shrinking caucus of fiscally conservative members of the party."
So now we know why Obama does some of the idiotic things he does. Not because he is being pragmatic and counting votes. It is because he is genuinely that ignorant.
I'm really sad right now...
Update: I would just like to say that I am still going to vote for him. As bad as you may think he is, Republicans are a million times worse. Don't be silly and support a primary challenger, because that will ensure a Republican victory. Just focus on 2016 to get progressive President elected, because crying and sitting at home will not get anything done in the mean time. It will just make things astronomically worse.

what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?

I think what is a million times worse is continuing to support people because of who they are not. that is to say I support you as a lesser of two evils...if people stopped doing that a viable third fourth and maybe even 5th party may become reality. Why not vote for someone who you agree with instead of supporting someone because you think the other side is the devil?
It is terrifying when you are too stupid to know who is dumb

"who is holding up health care reform? the blue dog DEMOCRATS"
"I assume you don't consider the Healthcare industry buying republican and blue dog dem votes "buying votes"?"
"they will not play ball. it is the blue dogs stonewalling this thing. there is an overwhelming democratic majority in the house and they can't get their stuff together"
"he came in promising change, but was defeated by the gop and the blue dogs in his own party."
"you are implying that the majority of the dems in congress are liberal?? LOL please, you forgot about the whole faction of blue dogs"
"he is limited by congress. the blue dogs are hamstringing him and holding him back."
GLENN GREENWALD: Well, the debate has—the division has become one not between Democrats and Republicans, but within the Democratic Party, between the forces that typically serve industry interests, like the Blue Dogs and the centrists who want to mandate that people buy health insurance products but without a public option to keep costs low, which would be a huge bailout to industry, versus the Progressive Caucus, who usually loses, but it seems to be, at least for now, standing up for ordinary Americans by saying only a public option will keep costs low.
And the media is depicting this battle, yet again, as being the progressives who are impeding real healthcare reform and obstructing getting things done, as though the only responsible thing to do is to give in to industry and to force progressives to give up on their belief in a public option, which Obama ran on and won on, rather than the Blue Dogs giving up on their servitude to industry. And it just shows how the media is never a neutral arbiter in these debates [inaudible]—
