with a friend. I'm just wondering if anyone can give us some info, stories about recent trips, to any of these places:
Aruba
Negril
Montego Bay
St. Thomas
St. Croix
Paradise Island
Nassau
And, we are not looking for a family friendly destination. So, yes, beaches and nightlife are important.
Thanks.

We did Cancun last Christmas, plenty of nightlife there if that is what you are looking for. We stayed at one of the Riu resorts (palace cancun if my tequila fogged memory serves me correctly). If we went back though, we wouldn't stay in the hotel zone, we would probably head down the coast to Playa del Carmen or the Riviera Maya or out to Isla Mujeres. The best food we have had in the Carribbean was in Cancun.
We went to St. Lucia this summer, by far the nicest place in the Carribbean we have been yet. Downfall to St. Lucia is the drive from the airport to the resorts. You are looking at a minimum of 1 hr, in our case it was closer to 1 hr 45 mins since we had to stop at another Sandals 1st then drive through Castries on Friday rush hour. I think there is only 1 stoplight in the whole city. We did the sandals thing again there for half of the week (I believe it was the Grande St. Lucian) and stayed at the Almond Morgan Bay for the 2nd half. Both were nicer than where we have stayed in Jamaica, but beware of the Almond...lots of kids when we were there, but lots of activities for the adults at night. The old man and step mom have been to St. Lucia 2 times, both times they Sandaled it and loved it (I would too if I had payed for the butler service!). If you go to St. Lucia, I recommend paying out the extra 200 and taking a helicopter at least one way from the airport to Castries. 12 mins door to door.
Aruba can be expensive. But from what I have heard from friends who have been there is plenty of nightlife, just not a lot of all-inclusives.
Personally, I prefer the all-inclusive route in the Carribbean, you save a heck of a lot if you plan on enjoying the local beverages while sitting on the beach or at the swim up bar.
Damn it's cold here, all this talking about the islands is making me think about planning another trip for Jan or Feb...
Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?
I've been to Aruba as well. Can't go wrong with either place
And, if anyone has a specific resort in mind, I am all ears.
Thanks again
