My pick would be the KC Emek print. Why? It’s amazing in person. I’ve seen the amazing detail throughout the print and would love to have my own copy. I also think the image this is portraying sends a strong statement, how toxic spills are damaging on our waters/wildlife but people are still confused/shocked when it happens (that’s what I see on the robots face).

Thanks for the chance and this would be my 2nd Emek print. Happy Holidays!!!
  • Awesome... Awesome.. Awesome

    WOW thanks for the opportunity
the generosity on this board, it's amazing.
As i don't have any posters, they all look great to me
The Berlin and Portugal posters stood out the most and I would be delighted with either of these.
Berlin's probably my favourite, but the Portugal poster is great as well. Both so different, contrasting but equally as powerful and striking. I should be doing some rather crappy Physics homework now, but I would rather write about these posters. So I'll tell you why I like both of them. :)

    Berlin Poster
It stands out to me, the simple image of an elephant. I think it represents many things and that's why I like it so much. The deep lines in the elephant's skin remind me of resilience, survival and endurance. Of wisdom and experience. Much like the band itself, who have survived the craziness of "grunge" and fame, who continually give and share their wisdom, music, creativity and provide fans with amazing experiences, whether at a show or listening to a song at home. The band , just like the elephants, keeps going and marching on.
The depth in the elephant's eye draws me in and is assuring somehow. Comforting almost. No aggression, no questions, just being. Simply there, no fuss. The fact that it's not the whole image of the elephant promises me that there are things out there, things are possible. The poster is peaceful and calm, makes me think of so many different things immediately when I look at it. I feel content and satisfied, grateful for what I have, grateful for the band and music, for life. Instead of trying to rush through my tasks, my day, my teenage years, it reminds me to stop, slow down and relax. Enjoy what I have at the moment and not worry about the past or the future. The choice of an elephant: A huge creature that has many sides, just like the band. It is caring and compassionate, can be vulnerable but also defensive and firm when it needs to be. Strong always. Elephants travel in huge herds, linking together and creating an unbreakable chain. They are always looking out for each other and stopping to help an individual - just like the community here, in this fan club, on these boards. Your giveaway is proof of the love and generosity amongst pj fans.

The elephant represents Pearl Jam, the music, the fans, the family and community. Just like elephants, PJ fans are a force to be reckoned with :)

    Portugal Poster
This poster completely contrasts to the Berlin poster, in colour, subject matter and the things that it makes me think of, to name a few.
Firstly, the colour and style is what caught my attention. The bold bright colours that have been chosen are so uplifting, so promising and positive. This is what PJ's music is to me, how it makes me feel. The mosaic, stained glass style of the poster shows how PJ is in my eyes. At the top of the music hierarchy. The poster is like a stained glass window that you see at Churches, mosques and other places. they tell the story of amazing/miraculous events using pictures - (even though I've never been to one, bootlegs + fans don't lie) a PJ concert is an amazing event so it suits it nicely that the poster for the show is like a stained glass window. Also, the poster looks as though someone has maybe smashed it up and then pieced it back together like a mosaic. Even if things are broken, destroyed, they can be pieced together to create something new. Similar to the formation of the band, similar to many experiences in life. Sticking with mosaics, I know that they have been around for a long, long time, used by people waaaaay back. Yet we still see them, artists still use them. Shows longevity, which again reminds me of the music. Timeless. I wasn't even born when Ten was released but I listen to it all the time. The small mosaic pieces could be so many different things, but my interpretation of it is the community and fans. Fans like you and me form the small chunks that add together to create the picture, the band, music, shows, community, fan club - the list goes on and on. A real sense of family and friendship. And however disjointed, oddly shaped etc. the pieces may be, they all fit together. This and the variety of colours is my favourite aspect of the poster. It shows the variety in the music, in the fans, no discrimination or limits on who can or can't listen to the music, on who can be a part of the huge force that is PJ.
Now to the giant octopus. Before seeing the poster, I would never have linked PJ and an octopus together. But on this poster, the octopus is really great. The eight legs of an octopus represent how PJ reach out to lots of people, touch on many things, help in so many aspects of my life - i know it may sound a bit pathetic. also, I don't know much about Octopuses but don't they grow a new leg if one is severed? This again shows survival, persistance - to keep trying. The octopus looks surreal, a bit evilish, a bit smug, i can almost see a face in its head. Almost humorous when I keep looking at it
The poster is so vivid and eye catching, unusual and bold. I love it.

The contrasts in the Berlin and Portugal posters are pretty cool - the colours, subjects - elephant on land, octopus in the depths of the sea, the emotions they draw out.

Sorry for the long, babbling post. I bet some of it doesn't even make sense or sounds ridiculous, but oh well :) I love both posters and just looking at them brought out so much that I wasn't content with just saying that they both looked great -which they do of course. beautiful posters, more beautiful idea :P
Anyway, thanks again for the opportunity. :D

    simplemente maravilloso!

    txs D!!
  • Berlin: Such a powerful sentiment. Those of us lucky enough to have such amazing Pearl Jam memories should always remember that there are those who have had their lives shaken by tragedy.

    Thanks for the generous chance.

Up to now, I had never seen that KC poster... It's awesome, very cool! They all are though, to be honest! :D

So my pick is Pearl Jam Kansas City 10 EMEK - Show.

    Thanks for the opportunity! :)
  • Over the years we've seen a lot of posters, from very talented people. As a fan, I just love the Berlin/Elephant poster. Everything about it seems to be unique. The size looks to be smaller and thinner like another favorite of mine (Toronto '03). A simple black and grey contrast is just perfect when we see so many posters using vibrant colors. Don't get me wrong, vibrant colors and beautiful contrasts are great. But this is so simple and bold, it rocks. I don't have many posters with dark colors, just Ames '93 (Puppet) and Detroit '03, so this would be great. Happy Holidays everyone.
  • Soundgarden lolla. Colors are very nice and emek rocks.
  • Pearl Jam Portugal 10 Ames Bros - I went there for my honeymoon and fell in love with the mosaic art influence. Thanks D!

Wow, this is awesome demetrios!!! Thanks for the chance!!! :D I would love the Berlin Poster. 1 of the reason that I would love this poster is because I love elephants! They are like my favorite animal of all time! In my room I have a big framed poster of a couple of real elephants that are black and white, it is really similar to the Berlin Poster. Also I just really love the design of the Berlin poster, I really like the color black. The black mixed with the very cool picture of the elephant is a very awesome poster!! And not to mention that I have been loving that Berlin bootleg!!I don't have many PJ posters so this would be a wonderful start of my PJ poster collection!!! Plus if I won I would give the bouncy ball to my mother for Christmas!. Thanks again for the chance!!! :D:D
