unless you are old or have some medical condition, you don't need a doctor for the flu. just stay home in bed and drink lots of orange juice.

neither do i. i enjoy a good flu every once in a while. you lose a little weight, get some nice poops in, miss a couple days of work, and people wait on you hand in foot. it's really not all that bad. hope i get it this winter.

  • I finally just got over 3 weeks of complete hell. Constant bathroom usage. Constant cramping. 3 weeks. Last week, for over 48 hours, every 30 minutes. No sleep. Constant explosions. It was absolute hell.

Did the flu shot last year, didn't get sick. Didn't do it this year. Hell. You do the math.

    that's pretty damn horrible.
    are you better now; fully?

i've felt bad on & off for a few weeks now.
some days are good other days not so much.
i have no energy at all today.
it was brutal just to get dressed; t-shirt and shorts.

im not one to lay around in bed all day.
yesterday i went to bed around 5 or 6pm; 12 hours of that is enough to drive me nuts.

    i am not swimming today

No shot here. In fact, I'm not even convinced the flu really exists. Unlike sasquatch and Nessie, I have never seen this flu that people talk about...

Dude, do NOT swim 4,000 laps if you are sick. Your body needs to conserve energy to fight off the flu. You can give yourself pneumonia that way. My uncle went into a coma for a month because he refused to rest while battling a flu. He almost died.

You can't burn a disease off with exercise. Exercise is a good pre-illness fighter, but you need all the energy you have when sick to fight it off.

    Wash your hands.
Actually, don't wash your hands. Everyday bacteria is good for building your immune defenses. You're just going to grab the diseased door on the way out of the bathroom, which has more germs than a toilet seat...

Unless you have piss or shit on your hands, then wash them, although, piss is sterile.
  • yes, I am. thankfully. I never call in sick to work. I missed 4 days in a row because of it. it was horrible. very weak, low appetite. get better.

yeah...and being sick for 3 weeks sounds more like a respiratory/sinus infection...having the runs for that long is NOT the flu..that's gastroenteritis (you need to wash your hands after using the pooper, or quit eating at 'dirty' restaurants). Chad go to the Dr, get some antibiotics (I got some, as well as some codeine) some good probiotics will help with the runs...
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

this has been a weird flu for me. sick then better then sick then better. some days i can exercise for a few hours while other days i am so weak i can barely move; like today, very weak, starving and stuff.

sorry to hear about your uncle. i guess he is stubborn like someone i know ;)

I used to get the flu once, even twice, a year. I have not had it in a long time since getting my flu shots. I hate vaccines for various reasons, but, this one seems to work for me.
