...unless GOP leadership intervenes. Boehner is not a fan of Paul and his efforts to expose the Central Bank.

This country NEEDS Ron Paul to chair this subcommittee-- It's already been determined that through a watered-down audit of the Fed that it wasn't only US Financial instutions that were bailed out in 2008-- foreign central banks (Bank of England), huge corporations (Harley Davidson), and even individuals (Michael Dell of Dell Computers) received bailout funds-- 21,000 recipients total.

Transparecy of the Fed is long overdue, and this is America's best chance at it.

I'm a fan, but isn't this akin to asking the cat to guard the rat nest? Yeah you want the rats gone, but the cat is hardly the most objective party to manage it. :D

Accurate analogy if Paul was your average sized house-cat, and the rats were your typical NYC subway rat (about the size of a cat), and there were a couple thousand of them. ;) I love how afraid the establishment is of this one man and his ideas.

The Fed is the epitome of "establishment", so you certainly can't be surprised that RP doesn't have alot of obvious support. Can't really blame them, either, as the economic upheaval that full disclosure could cause would be epic. I expect, over the long haul, it will be a cathartic kind of pain, but pain nonetheless. It is for that reason that I support his movement but do not relish it.
  • Unfortunately, the one guy who understands monetary policy better than anyone in there always seems to have this chance taken away from him. I'd rather someone who understands things be in there as opposed to someone who doesn't but gets in there just because of Fed influence and connections.
  • He should lead that, but however I think he would be even better as the Speaker of the House.

Yeah but I'm thinking President. 2012 would be a good year to run.

I agree and I would love to see a Constitutionalist candidate in the mix.

Do you think he would stand a real chance in the current political environment?

Someone like the Great One Mark Levin?
I thought Barack Obama was a constitutional professor - wasn't good enough, huh?

I guess what I meant was someone who actually values the Constitution.

    A degree doesn't make you a Constitutionalist.
