Ed will never do a solo tour in Europe. I see the youtube vidoes of the shows over there (grant it they are all GA) and things are out of control :P . I don't think you guy's could sit down and enjoy a very laid back format. ;)

and i'm sure if Ed did do a solo tour, he'd pick the maller more appropriate seated venues.

in scotland there is the playhouse in edinburgh or one in glasgow, (not sure which one)

    Agree with the other posters.
If Mr Vedder did a your in Europe it would be small venues and they would be seated.
We in Europe can be behaved when we need to be :P

Well, to be fair you are referring to PJ gigs...no one shd sit down and be still for that!! (felt kinda awkward at times standing at my PJ20 seats :P). After hearing all the stories abt US fans calling it out etc (granted it wasn't at all shows/every state...I think your fair city was guilty) though, I barely think that's a fair argument.

And perhaps you're forgetting the long and established European tradition of theatre, opera & ballet...we can sit down and be good little children when we have to ;) If I didn't know any better I'd say you were trying to insult us  Never say never!!
if I keep holding out,.... will the light shine through?

I wouldn't bet on it. I can already imagine the British women screaming 'EDDDDDIIIIIIIEEEEE' and throwing their undergarments onto the stage (probably)

Very admirable. Maybe they should put up posters around the venue saying 'This is not a Tom Jones Concert (thankyou)'

women throwing underwear at tom jones?

I will intervene violently if someone screams song titles. I made a group of 4 constantly chatting drunk guys sitting next to me at bridge school shut up simply by giving them the death stare. ;)

musica sacra..that sums it up pretty well :D

rome's a bit far from here, but always worth a trip.

vienna has loads of theatres that could work for a purpose like this.

  • I don't think we have any Roman amphitheatres in Britain that are in a good enough state to host events, which is a shame because I love them, but I think we've got the perfect venue for an Eddie Vedder solo show:

I think EV would absolutely fooking love it, playing in front of the ocean, it would be something special. Just a shame our weather is so temperamental... you could get a gorgeous balmy UK summer evening one day, then it could piss it down all day the next!

    Niente male ;)
    Roma...la mia seconda casa

Rome would be perfect place for him and second show in Verona, that's all I need ;)

The Playhouse is an excellent venue. We've not got many seated venues in England that are as good, Albert Hall or Hammersmith I'd think would be most likely if London is included. Festival Hall and Barbican would surely be too small... and they don't put seats in at Brixton very often now.

Excellent venue, probably a bit too small though, more's the pity :(

There's always Eden, but that has a 6000 capacity..perfect for a 10c PJ show though ;)
