i remember when i was young some guy fell from a smoke stack that is many hundreds of feet high. when he hit the ground he did land on his feet. you can imagine where his legs and feet ended up. i do not know how true it is but i was always told his feet were up in his shoulders.

I made it through, but it was an effort.

At the beginning I thought, "That's not so bad." Then he went outside the cage. Then they said he was free climbing. I still was okay, and then he stepped onto the tiny platform with the beacon and I was having palpitations.

Mr. Unlost is a technical rescue specialist. They do a lot of high angle rope rescue, but it's all with safety systems in place.

The high angle stuff never really bothered me... but the confined space entry stuff sure does. We have a photo of him deep within a space below the World Trade Center and it is just awful. Twisted metal, tight area, and him in the middle. Freaks me out every time I see it...

I can't believe how little security there was. Really felt nauseous at some point. And I'm not usually afraid of heights. That's just crazy. When they say that the other guy had to carry the tool bag or his partner could be thrown off balance by its sway, I wondered just how they had come to realize that in the first place ....

    I don't feel well.
  • As I was standing on my porch roof putting Christmas lights on my 2nd story roof line yesterday and getting nervous when standing at the edge, I felt like an idiot thinking about these guys in the video lol...

How funny is this, I was watching it and one of the directors here walked by, and I said "check this out" and he stood there watching it and then out of the side of his mouth, he said, "I'd shit my pants if that was me"

2.) are you scared of being in the clouds?
3.) are you crazier than a shit-house rat?

Amazing. I used to climb trees when I was a kid, high enough to feel the tree sway in the wind, but I don't think I'd want to go as high as that tower. The guy looked pretty comfortable with the climb.

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

Well yes and no (though I know I climbed higher than that). Once you've crossed a certain height, you're going to die if you fall, so it doesn't make so much difference how high you are after that as long as you don't choke up.

  • Whew, my palms and feet are sweating. My heart is racing. Damn that is some shit I'd never do! But if I had to, I would bring a parachute because I'd probably slip and would need it.

Although one thing I'd like to do at the very top is to take a piss! Well, that and hocking some loogies!

    What? I'm a guy!!!!!!!!!!

I was thinking it would be fun to toss a pumpkin from up there. Of course, I wouldn't want to be the second person ascending...
