Beatles Reunion....sort of!

I heard they are planning a show at the Hollywood Bowl next August that will feature Paul & Ringo performing with digitalized audio/video of George and John. Sounds a bit creepy.

As I recall, members of Elvis Presley's band toured sometime in the 90s, with lead vocals provided by actual footage of Elvis.

Edit: if it does happen, it will be a benefit show, so it will serve a greater purpose.

    Zeppelin did it in 07 and honestly I wasn't impressed. Can't they just "let it be" (no pun intended) and let their musical legacy speak for itself. They are THE band. Always will be. Every musical act from now until the end of time will only be in the Beatles shadow. Hopefully this is just a rumor cause I would hope Paul and Ringo would have enough smarts to shoot this down. I mean they didn't play live at all since Revolver came out if I'm not mistaken, except for that gig on the London roof in 69 and Let it Be for television.

    I too would like to hear Newch's take on it.

    Horrible idea. Unlike the recordings of Real Love and Free As A Bird from the anthology were done tastefully and awesomely. This would be a joke.

    That pun was totally intended.

    Well the notion of them actually playing a full concert was awesome but it's not like the performance was out of this world. There wasn't anything wrong with it by any means...but it wasn't all that "impressive" either. It just sounded like three guys in their 60's playing their old tunes...which is fine.

    :lol::lol:
    Just saw this thread now and love what you and youngster wrote. It's really no secret.

    You want my thoughts on this:

    Sounds interesting. I had to look it up and it is true that it's a rumor right now; it would be to promote world peace and raise awareness for breast cancer (what John and George wanted and what Linda died from, respectively). I would like to see Dhani (who looks and sounds just like George) and Julian and/or Sean perform with Paul and Ringo. This is just me, but I would totally love to see the sons (Julian, Sean, James, Dhani, and Zach) perform a one-off tribute for The Beatles. Don't know how that would go.

    All in all, I would rather to see a DVD of the Shea Stadium concert or the Hollywood Bowl concert. Also, reissues on vinyl.

    Like someone said, what they did on the Anthology with Free As a Bird and Real Love was the reunion. Would have loved to hear the three of them work on the other Lennon song, Now and Then.
