i don't know where to go with this topic & questions
last night i talked with a dude who was a soldier over there in the middleeast somewhere fighting
his leg was about blown apart
several surgeries later & lots of physical therapy he can walk

he will not tell me his age
he will not be present in a room if people are burning greenery nicely

a friend. we can't smoke right now chadwick
me. oh... new house rules?
him. "the VA is up my ass"
me. nice place for them
me. um, probably not, that sucks. (putting my pipe away)

some time later...

hey dude man
how old are you brother?
i myself im 38

this dude turned into a woman who is freaked about about their age

last night was a bizarre night

if my leg was blown apart because i was fighting in a war
when i got out of the military being around weed would be my last worry

what the fuck?

the services frown upon greenery usage. I knew several servicemen that would love to smoke the green but they say that their country is number one to them and it is not worth the risk...I think if you test positive you get a dis-honorable discharge...looks really bad.

Thanks for everything you do service men and women.

just checked with my friend who is a vet and a social worker with the VA.

Military totally frowns on it. MJ is illegal at a federal level and the military is federal. Card or no card. If you test dirty it is a dishonorable discharge.

But if he is out of the services there wouldn't be any consequences, as far as the military. he could get arrested of course, but it wouldn't fuck up his benefits.

the age thing is just wierd. and funny.

like 81 said, they may cut off benefits if he tests positive. f'ed up I agree...but if the government wants him to be addicted to prescription pain killers rather than smoke pot.....well then
i am watching celebrity rehab...eric roberts is there to get off the green...we'll see how he does
Jeff Conway was there for being addicted to pills...and well....look at him now....

just re-read the original post. if the VA is up his ass it may mean that they want him to go to a program or something. or they won't give him certain meds if he is "using." It could also be a mental health thing. Weed might make him paranoid and trigger some sort of PTSD reaction. I've seen that happen too. This is all speculation, but I've had many clients who are vets who have had to curb their drug use for those reasons.

i just know that the folks i've worked with coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan have been severely fucked up in the head as a result. I hope for his sake he gets the help he needs, whatever it may be. And right now it may be jack daniels and acting like a girl when it comes to his age.

That threw you for a loop? Your perplexed? Man, you truly are an idiot. That story makes no sense. He's your friend but you don't know how old he is.? Sounds like you were at his house so I'm gonna say he can tell you whatever the hell he wants to tell you.......for all you little pot heads that say he's pressing his beliefs. It was probably a bizzare night because your head was full of THC or already burned out from it. Your 38......yeah that's about right. Who the hell are you to assume what you would or wouldn't be worrying about after being injured like that. I'm a vet and I wish all you non vets w/ your dim opinions would just shut the hell up. The same way that I believe we should never have a president that has never served a day in his life commanding our troops (commander and chief my ass). That's an obvious no brainer but obviously our government doesn't agree. Hopefully this is just a phase for you.......kinda like Eddies mohawk.

    nicely done.
    have done your homework, Sir?
    let's see...

    A. i have never been to his home. i have no idea where he lives. i have met him three times at a mutual friend's house. i have never heard this persons name before until recently.

    B. he is not my friend. i barely have spoken to the young gentleman. he is a decent enough guy to talk with, that's all i have, dude. oh... and he is a family man; i have no clue about his family. i do not know his last name.

    C. im not his friend; i do not know him.

    you are funny though
