Preaching about the environment yet your bands concert tonight in Melbourne is leaving a giant carbon footprint with that mega stage inside the stadium.

He should record a duet with Pink (another phoney).
Her and that fake song Dear Mr President, a bunch of smoking monkeys chained to typewriters could of written a better song.

As you say a musician phoney who does more good around the world than he does the bad things. Take a look at the end result not necessarily the means to get that positive result. From what i can see He does more good than plenty of other musicians at least he appears to care about the indigent peoples of the world.

Cars were left idle for 2 hours due to roadworks outside the stadium last night in Melbourne.
Bono has now contributed to carbon emissions from all the cars stuck in traffic for 2 hours.

    A huge prick.

In 2005 there were posters at Twickenham about beating world poverty. U2 sold a cheap crappy program for £15. Shitty tickets were £70 and they sucked. I doubt much of the exorbitant prices went to preventing world poverty but helped them buy their hotel in Dublin.
  • I like Bono

  • You would think an Irish guy who is basically exempt from paying taxes on sales of his music would keep his mouth shut regarding how the US spends its money...anyone ever hear about the Irish artist tax exemption? http://www.niassembly.gov.uk/io/research/2007/1307.pdf

But no, this loser has had the nerve to come to America and try to convince our politicians to spend our tax dollars on his pet causes...just a big jerk...

A girl I know went to the U2 concert the other night and said Bono was acting like a Messiah the whole show and that it got annoying as she and other just wanted to hear the music, not some dude preach endlessly.

  • He still has my respect, he does a lot of good work!! Moreso than a lot of rock stars and celebrities. And seriously, why do people always bitch about him preaching at shows. He says his piece for like 30 seconds, then the rest of the 2 hours he is performing. If you dont wanna hear it, tune out
  • He comes across as a bit of a tool, and while I didn't enjoy U2 as much as I thought I would, he does a lot of good. And in their prime (see: Rattle and Hum) there were very few bands better.

traffic in raleigh was so backed up last year some were stuck for hours and did not even get to the show

when they played dc, the fedex field was torn apart and had to be resodded
the field that had already required 10-11 semis took 24 to haul the specially grown replacement sod

    i love the joshua tree
but the band as a whole does very little for me
fuck 'em if they can't take a joke

I'm trying to figure out how Bono could prevent cars from idling whilst waiting to get to his concert. :?

Can the guy not want a big stage show and still care about the environment? I'll never understand the amount of animosity thrown that man's way...
