Something I wrote long back. Obviously Pearl Jam inspired.

Comments and critics most welcome.

The sun shines above us,
Happy and true and clear,
With a fear inside my head,
Will this last forever?

The nights seem to draw in,
washing away the truth,
washing away the sun,
washing away everyone.

He shouts out to the ocean,
to everyone above him.
Please stop the destruction,
and save the smile on me.

He says, "I know you'll be there,
standing right besides me.
Or else... or else..
I will walk away."

"I will walk away to the ocean.
To everyone above us.
From where u come and now where I go,
to a place that no one knows."

The sun still shines above us.
The nights still draw in.
He still walks away,
walks away everyday.

I like the organization of this one. I noticed that the last paragraph is a summary of the whole.

    i think i hear a song
for poetry through the ceiling. ISBN: 1 4241 8840 7

    "Hear me, my chiefs!
I am tired; my heart is
    sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
    no more forever."

    Chief Joseph - Nez Perce
