I don't think their last album(s) gained them any popularity, but I think their fan base is still pretty solid.

Serj has matured a ton during his solo tenure so if he has a fair amount of writing on some new material I can see this shaping up to be a great thing.
He who forgets will be destined to remember.

I've still never seen them live so I hope a US tour is in the works. Their last two albums weren't nearly as good as their earlier stuff, but I'd still pick up something new from them. Just don't let Daron sing as much as he did on the previous two albums and things should be better.

I have a feeling this had something to do with the "hiatus."

Awesome news. I love the dynamic of them switchin off on the vox, but Daron definitely needs to slack off some.

    Toxicity is a masterpiece

While I think Toxicity is their masterpiece, I love Daron's vox on the last two!

Good news :D Toxicity is great, Mezmerize and Hypnotize go great together and have some of my fav songs off them, also dug Steal This Album a lot, first album was decent as well. I first saw them at Ozzfest in '99 on the first stage having no clue who they were. They def. caught my attention when they started playing. Saw them again on their last tour before they went on hiatus as well. :D

Some of my fav SOAD songs.

    Streamline

Been a fan of their first album - my band covered it in it's entirety when it came out (lol, we were so young back then). I saw them on their following tour supporting Toxicity in Berlin. It wasn't very good.

Yes! 2005 at the Coliseum was awesome, except for Mars Volta they were awful.

He sounded pretty good at the Armenian concert last year. Not 2005 good but who does.

I haven't seen them play since Ozzfest 1999 in Vancouver.  They were pretty awesome, but it was pretty early in their career.  Would love to see them again after having listened to their music for nearly 20 years.
