A day to say "Thanks for being alive!"

I'm grateful that the people I love are alive
Friendship and love
To me, these feelings are consistent
I view my chosen friends in their best light always
always!
even when they don't see themselves that way
even when they have their own doubts and insecurities
and if I could, I would project my good vision on them
I would package it up and send it as a gift daily
in fact, that's what I tend to do when I have the chance
that's what LOVE is to me
love for my spouse
love for my family
love for the people I choose to be my friends
that's the way to bring out the best of people
project your vision of their positive potential
USUALLY they live up to it
because they get a flash of your vision too
and they like themselves in that light
and if it's given to them over and over
they start to understand their goodness too
some people need more words
and that's usually too intimate for non-family members
so the verbal expressions are usually reserved for family and lovers
but, luckily, some people feel the gist of the message without direct words

Especially relevant for the New Zealanders on the board here after our Pike River tragedy yesterday. 29 folk lost in a small community on the West Coast of our South Island. Thank-you.
