To me, that seems less awful because a parent could run out after putting the little kids to bed and still get home to bed at a reasonable time. :geek:

Yep but the lines are crazy outside of Toys R Us (like everywhere else). My mom went last year and she said she's never doing that again.

Chadwick, it's not for me to call other people foolish but...I wouldn't do it myself.

There's nothing I could want so much from a store that I'd ruin my day off to go and buy it like that.

    It's a disease,... and they're all green
    It emanates from their being
    A satiation,.. with occupation

And like weeds,.. with big leaves

    Still they take more

    Course I know,.. then I don't
There's a stowaway with my throat
    It's deceiving...
    I don't believe him

We can scream,.. out our doors
Behind the wall a fat man snores
    In his dreams he's,...
    Choking Ti leaves

    Well I guess
There's nothing wrong with what you say

I am usually cynical about holiday stuff, but I can see how people would get to a store at 4am in order to buy gifts for their kids that would be unaffordable at their regular prices.

Me too. Actually, I also refuse to go shopping on the Friday after Thanksgiving. I don't want to be part of the shopping machine.

Shop with a mission...not getting suckered into sale prices and buying more than you intended...you only spend more :?

i think these sales are a good thing...they give people who aren't financially well off opportunities to purchase gifts at reduced prices; something they typically wouldn't be able to do before.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

I will gladly pay $50 or $100 more for an item than stand in a line with a bunch of idiots at 4am. Nothing is worth that. I wake up at 4:15am every other morning to go to work to make money. That is early enough to not want to wake up earlier on my day off to spend money.

  • I wish I knew how we let all the holidays run into one.
Halloween starts in September, Thanksgiving is push to the side with Christmas advertised in October.
Santa is already in the malls.
    Really?
I think sales are awesome but people get crazy. They just miss the point of it all. It is Greed and Gimmie.
Live Life love people, you never know what battle they may be facing..

Your worth has always been there...don't argue with those who see it.just accept you are valuable.
  • you can usually get the same deals online on Black Friday. Not so bad shopping at 4am at home in your pj's. It could be worth it if you are looking for something specific and it's a good sale. For some people, $50 savings is a lot of money and they want to give their kids a nice Christmas. I know Christmas is not all about the gifts, but it's a special day for the kids...
