Who's played a Marshall Class 5 amp? What did you think?

  • Played one for a bit, was not a fan. It's good for what it is, but I don't really dig what it is if that makes sense?

That's the sentiment I've heard. I'd still like to try one, but am anticipating that I'll be underwhelmed.

  • Personally, I thought it sounded amazing. It stays true to the Marshall sound. It's a loud little sucker for being only 5 watts. I Ab'd the Class 5 with an Epiphone Valve Junior, and with both volumes dimed, the Class 5 was way louder.

Bottom line, if you like vintage Marshall crunch, give it a try at the very least.

  • does anyone know if it is class a or class ab? if it is class a you would be surprised how loud those 5 watts would be.

my matchless is class a 35 watts and that thing is super loud when it is cranked. i know bad cat makes a little combo that is either 5 or 8 watts and that thing is much louder than you would expect.

edit- i just googled it and it is class a, so it is going to be more powerful and louder than you would expect. i am interested in seeing what that thing sounds like.
