The '69 pups fit that bill, too. Now all you need is a couple 100-watt Marshall Leads, a Fuzz Face, and a vintage Crybaby*.
*talent not included
it still needs a proper nut cut for it. i've just flipped the right-handed nut so it's not going to intonate properly or anything until it gets a properly angled nut.
i'd actually chosen the 69s before i decided to this in reading that they were somewhat close to the dipper pickups in the john mayer guitar but of course it fits into the faux hendrix guitar thing.
being able to shop for a right handed neck was like a kid in a candy store. i've never had so much choice.
Are you liking those pups? I haven't heard them, but I just got fralin split blades (superior!) And his "Vintage Hots" would be perfect for your guitar. See what you think.

i'm still exploring options for side dots too.
i really like the pickups. they're all around 5.7K and are nice and clear. a friend of mine went with texas specials so i wanted something different and i knew the mayer pickups were lower output and i really like his tone so i went in that direction.

More to Come....
the stock american standard pickups are left-hand stagger (they'll do that but not use reverse taper pots *sigh*) but the custom shop 69s are right-hand so yes, i guess i did.
