Sarah Palin says she can defeat President Obama

I know this isn't possible (not because she's a female, but because she is an idiot) and this is just her little way of making money off the tea baggers (just like she had that rally in Alaska for the victims of 9/11- yet none of the victims received a penny) , but just imagine if she were to become president..... Oh shit! Her finger on the trigger to launch nukes! WTF!!

Sarah Palin believes she can be the next president of the United States.

The former Alaska governor told ABC’s Barbara Walters that she’s considering running for the Republican presidential nomination. And if she won it, she said, she could defeat President Barack Obama.

“I’m looking at the lay of the land now, and ... trying to figure that out, if it’s a good thing for the country, for the discourse, for my family, if it’s a good thing,” Palin said, according to a short video clip released by ABC News.

Walters followed up with the key question: “If you ran for president, could you beat Barack Obama?”

Palin’s response: “I believe so.”

Wonder who her apponents will be in the primaries, are there any other republicans who have given an indication that they want to run in 2012?

i saw the thread title and was waiting for the punchline....

    too bad there wasn't one...

if she runs and wins this country will deserve it. because that means that the glitz of the media darling is more powerful than the message of those that really have ideas on how to govern.

You have to remember, she has about as much political experience as Obama when he was elected. The Republicans jumped all over Obama saying he was only a one term senator and not experienced enough politically to be president. So she says she can beat Obama when she QUIT as Alaskan governor and now works as a correspondent for Fox News while travelling the country as a spokesperson for the Teabaggers. So a non politician who doesn't hold an elected office says she will be the next president? I wonder how the GOP will spin this around in their favor. I think I just voted to re-elect Obama.
He who forgets will be destined to remember.

i think his 2 years of experience as president has trumped whatever political experience she has.

if she won the nomination it would be at the dismay of the rank in file Republicans and the best thing for Obama

if the election were today I think a ground hog could beat Obama

Yeah, but lets not forget Obama proved he had the back bone/brains/mental capacity to take on the job.... He did tons of interviews, ran a solid campaign, debated with grace, traveled like crazy, didn't screw up all that much, and obviously showed the brains! ....
I'm remembering two key moments....one was when Obama called out McCain because McCain wanted to cancel a debate because he wanted to focus on the economy - and B.O. said "you have to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time......." and then during the debate ....They were talking about Brazil and McCain told Obama that he probably didn't know anything about the subject...then Obama responded "actually I do" and went into deep details on the subject blowing away McCain's comments...... that gave me wood!:lol:;)

I don't even want to get into how bad palin is/was....it's not worth my energy.... she is a joke ...it's that simple....

because that means that the glitz of the media darling is more powerful than the message of those that really have ideas on how to govern.

Really? Do you really think Obama and Palin are equally qualified or are on the same intellectual level??

Would you want Palin holding the highest office? Representing America?
  • Well what do you want her to say. I am going to run for President of the USA, but I think I cannot win. The same foes for anyone. Just saying. Do I think she will win, well I'll tell you this she will not get my vote but neither will President Obama.

posted from the other palin thread ... yes ... she can definitely win ...

    *************************************
in any case - she can win because of 3 essential things:

    1. the voting system - because of the electoral colleges, she only has to win x number of states ... she could theoretically get 35% of the popular vote and still win ...
    2. an ignorant voter base - most people continue to vote strictly on the letter next to the name ... partisanship and the feeling that is the only option has killed democracy in the USA
    3. the power of media and PR ... hopefully, you will get a chance to read the book i suggested in the other thread for you ... in any case, this radical right as i call them are very savvy ... their smear campaigns and negative ads as well as their willingness to lie makes them a very powerful especially considering point 2 above ... also, the indoctrination of right wing myths is perpetuated across the country through right wing pundits, right wing op-ed web sites and blogs, these guys take the play book and they run with it everywhere ... take global warming for instance ... having studied the science - i guarantee you that it is real and that in reality it is not very hard to prove ... yet, half of americans don't believe in it ... with the majority of those people voting republican ... and that is again because of their ability to work on their base through aggressive PR mechanisms ... there was a board member here all the time that used to post link after link denying global warming and in each time it was proven to be published by someone linked to a right wing think tank that is funded by big oil ... yet, no matter how many other links anyone else would post, he would continue to post these pieces that had no substance ... that is what i'm talking about - he has been indoctrined and that goes for a whole whack of people ...

so, yes, she can most definitely win ... heck, look at her daughter on that show ... she is the worst dancer but yet she's in the finals ... same thing for her mother ... worst candidate ever and she could be president ...

I think she might have costed McCain the last election. I think people actually know that she is completely incapable of running the country. I just think the media and the circus surrounding her make her look more popular than she is to the weirdo pop-culturists and give her (and some people) the illusion that she could actually stand a chance. I wish I didnt have to see her mug plastered all over the fucking place, it's getting old.

I kid you not when I say I will leave this fucking country if she ever steps foot in DC.

Speaking of Murkowski, that election shows you a lot of what power Palin doesn't have... She couldn't get a guy elected in her own state...
