Riot Act is 8 years today. :o

My personal favorite PJ album and in my opinion their best!

I got into the band around 2000/2001 and this was the first new album for me to look forward to. I remember I was in 11th grade and I bought the album after school and listened to it over and over in my room while looking over the liner notes. Can't Keep grabbed me right away from the very first listen and I knew I was in for something special.

Thanks Pearl Jam for making a spectacular album that I still listen to and enjoy today.

Feel free to share your story of where you were and what you did when this album dropped.

  • Can't believe it's been 8 years. Where did all the time go?? Many great songs on that record and a couple I don't particularly care for. But I'm glad they made it.

    Commence the Riot Act bashing...

  • My first 'new release' since I became a fan and It's in my top 3.

Gonna have a listen right now :D
  • Orp, I forgot to get it a gift!

As much as I love PJ's albums this is the one that keeps throwing surprises at me. I liked it 8 years ago just because it was new material again but as I listened more I slowly started downgrading it to the point where I found it really difficult to listen to. A break from it and a listen through good headphones has led to it being my most played album of the last 2 years and I probably listen to it 2 or 3 times a week and still keep finding new things I love about it. :D I didn't realise it was 8 years old today but I'm really glad they made it and I hope some day they give the impression that they are too. I'd love a change to the live set a bit to accomodate classics like Can't Keep, Get Right, Ghost, LBC, Thumbing My Way or I Am Mine and I'd love to be in the prescence of Mike playing All Or None because it's every bit as stunning as Nothing As It Seems.

Yeah all or none, get right, Ghost, LBC has to be played more!

  • I really think I'm the only one who doesn't like LBC. Love the rest of it, though.
