Vinyl rocks...but perhaps the powers that be might consider releasing upcoming (and past) albums in hi-resolution formats?
Tom Petty is on board with his latest album:

computeraudiophile.com is a great resource for anyone wondering how to get the best possible sound out of their computer, ipod, etc. If you are already downloading bootlegs in Flac (thanks Pearl Jam!), you might be pretty stoked to spend some time checking out this website.
Anyone else interested??

I have this and it sounds phenomenal. I also have the 60 track Live Anthology, which sounds just as good. So yea, bring it PJ. :D

    Wouldn't that be nice...
I used to be happy with my CD quality flacs, but now that storage space in a computer is no longer an issue, i would very much love to hear to their music at studio resolution.
I know Vinyl gets you closer to that level, but i still have to contend with pops and crackles that are derivative of vinyl (unless you have very high-end, expensive equipment), which i wouldn't have to do with a studio master

Damn and I thought that the best quality I could get was with FLACs!
