the U.S. government is "deeply disappointed"......

over the Israeli governments plan to build 1,300 new housing units in East Jerusalem. Netanyahu has rewarded Vice President Biden for his staunch support of Israel by publicly humiliating the Vice President once again and sticking a finger in they eye of the Obama Administration.
that was 2 days ago. the Obama administration has been tip toeing around Israel's illegal settlement construction for what seems like forever. netanyahu makes them look stupid. big badass America. when did they become so afraid? letting Israel walk all over them.
and why is the U.S. government still going to move an additional $400 million worth of military equipment to emergency storage in Israel over the next two years. the equipment, which includes so-called smart bombs, will stand at Israel's disposal in an emergency. this will bring the value of American military equipment stockpiled in Israel to $1.2 billion by 2012.
this is how they reward someone who they are 'deeply dissapointed in?" i'd hate to see what they did if they were 'happy with them" OH come ON.
this is so wrong. the U.S. government are so fucked up. they do not have your best interests at heart. their motivation is greed, power and expanding the empire. they don't care about international law. they don't care about innocent people caught up in this mess. they are so corrupt. evil to the max.

this could be the day

lie beside me

it's clear Israel doesn't want peace. they don't even try and pretend they do anymore.
the U.S. government can feign 'deep disappointment" all they like. they are not fooling anyone. the international community and the US government need to stop simply condemning Israel's actions and start doing something to end it.0 -
flip the script and the US would've bombed the shit out of Israel by now. Also, not the answer obviously...
Can't we just do what is RIGHT for once.....please!0 -
this is depressing. it is so fucking unfair how we can so nonchalantly arm a country with the human rights policies of israel, even while we are supposedly angry at them.
it makes me not want to live in a world where such blatant disregard for human decency and the disregard of wanting a real peace is so rampant. and it is all funded by my own government, who would invade any other country in the region if they had half of those weapons.. it makes me ashamed to be american, and in many ways ashamed to be a human being."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

oh how different things could be if it wasn't for U.S. continued unconditional support for the Israeli Government.
and yes. just do what's right. and this is not what's right.0 -
unsung I stopped by on March 7 2024. First time in many years, had to update payment info. Hope all is well. Politicians suck. Bye. Posts: 9,487This is another reason to get behind Ron Paul. His foreign policies would be a drastic change from what the last five administrations have had.
I'm beginning to believe most of you won't get in board is simply because of the (R) next to his name. Most of you will preach bipartisanship, yet then fail to practice it.0 -

i don't have it in me anymore. i am sick of the official position being "deeply disappointed". what will it take to make us "outraged" or "pissed off" enough to force us to take some sort of action? it makes me feel like whatever i do does not matter. i post on here trying to educate people and a few read it, most probably don't. most people here are very smart and have an idea what is going on in the world, yet i come here and feel like i am preaching to the choir. when i talk to people in the real world they can not be bothered with the things that i talk about and am passionate about. if they are an accurate sample of the US population as a whole, it really is depressing and discouraging that they are unwilling to even read or research the things i tell them about. i can go out in the real world and yell about these things until i am blue in the face and they don't hear me. i can write my senator and congressmen and they won't hear me. i could write to obama and he would not hear me.
i dunno, i just kind of feel defeated when my government does things like this."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

I feel the same way. When ever I speak to someone about these issues I can get blank stares. Most people don't seem to care. Or I speak to someone who is quite engaged and passionate, but facts and evidence don't matter (see Godfather). Quite frustrating.
Living overseas and meeting people from all walks of life has given me hope in the human race. When Fox news and other US media isn't poisoning the brain, intelligent debate can be found, it is quite refreshing.0 -

i'm sorry i am rambling, i am just not in a good place right now. i think i will step away for awhile."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

I would have no problem with him being sworn in in 2013, but he can't gather the support that he needs. As you said, he has an (R) next to his name, which turns off Democrats and liberals, and his own party views him as a radical.
A shame. But what do you expect? People to actually do some research? to actually get involved beyond voting?

I'm with you.
I just had a weekend reunion of sorts with friends from college (and their wives) and talking about real world shit is like pulling teeth. I had a good convo with a friend about gay marriage, but when I talked politics with some friends - in a convo that lasted only 10 minutes - I was bombarded with Obama bashing by people who read People and watch celebrities dance on TV.
It is frustrating, but I do have a group of friends, and my girlfriend, to discuss politics, culture, and society with, so that's good. It really is a shame though, if we were all engaged and informed, we would all be better off. But, that statement would be accused of being "Socialist."0 -
