Dave Niehaus, the 'voice of the Mariners' passed away today. I was part of a sports camp when I was a kid and his daughter Gretta was a counselor there. On the last day of the camp, Dave came in to meet all the kids and signed baseballs for all of us. He was a really cool guy. ![ ](https://community.pearljam.com/plugins/emojiextender/emoji/yahoo/cry.gif)

The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

I am speechless....
Rest In Peace, Dave. You will be eternally missed in Seattle.
I can hear his voice now. He will be missed.
Ken called into ESPN radio in Seattle tonight to talk about losing Dave: http://www.mynorthwest.com/resources/au ... 5630_6.mp3
