what would you do... go on facebook to ask about the welfare of your family or ring the police or call home or a neighbour?

The son of a murdered South Australian family turned to the internet to find out if the victims were his parents and sister.
Christopher Rowe, 25, was holidaying with his girlfriend on the Gold Coast when the bodies of his parents Andrew and Rose and 16-year-old sister Chantelle were found dead in their house at Kapunda, The Adelaide Advertiser reports.
When Mr Rowe first heard reports of the deaths he turned to Facebook to ask friends if his family was alright.
"Can someone tell me what's going on? That's my parents street," Mr Rowe wrote in his status on Monday, when the bodies were found by police.
Friends replied saying three people had been found dead, while one said it wasn't his house.
"Thanks... It's hard not knowing," Mr Rowe replied.
But it was his family, and police located him on the Gold Coast to inform him of the tragedy.
South Australian police said they did not reveal details on the murder for more than 24 hours due to operational reasons.
But that delay, combined with a pager message sent by Kapunda's Metropolitan Fire Service last night telling residents to "lock your doors", have left the small community on edge.
Detective Superintendent Grant Moyle said detectives were now trying to determine the movements of all three people over the weekend.
Detective Moyle said all victims suffered multiple injuries.
Police do not know whether more than one killer was involved.
They have called for Kapunda residents to come forward if they saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area or anyone with blood on their clothing.
Friends of Chantelle said they went to a party at the house last Friday night and the teenager was in good spirits.
Kapunda is heralded as a gateway town to the Barossa Valley and Clare Valley wine producing regions.
It was first settled as a copper mining town in the 1840s and has a population of about 3000.

either way, i'm betting the killer is a thumb sucker
I guess I have an advantage... living in the town I grew up in. I know all my neighbors, most of the police officers and since my husband and brother-in-law are on the fire department, so I'm sure they'd find me quickly if something happened to my family.
I guess if I heard something... I'd start by calling the fire department, then the neighbors.
I got memories. I got shit so much it don't show."
im starting to think youre a closet thumbsucker 81.

i go quite long periods of time between calls to my parents. and when eventually my parents or i break the silence, they always open the conversation with oh so youre not dead.`i quite nonchalantly tell them im sure the authorities would inform them of my demise. and if not them then mos def the zoemonster would call them, cause she cant stop talking.
i hope he was just complacent... it just seems weird to me. i hope hes been in qld for more than 5 days.
